The Chubby Castor in Peterborough

We did not know this was so nearby, the service was impeccable, we had the tasting menu and the food was brilliant. The selection of wines was great and made it hard to choose but the staff were really knowledgable and helped select the perfect bottle.

Absolutely first class. This is fine dining at its best. Admittedly the portions are small and the prices very high but the food and experience was outstanding. We were COVID cautious but this was not a problem we were seated next to an open door and looked after very well.

Breads and starters really good. Sunday main was a bit lacking though, veg selection good, but not much meat and was overdone, despite asking for medium. Dessert was the poorest course. Sticky toffee pudding sponge was overdone to the point of having a burnt taste, was dry and lacked flavour.

I’ve just dined here for the first time with my family and we were all blown away with how fabulous it was- the service was first class, food from the tasting menu was a masterpiece, the setting was beautiful and staff were an absolute delight. We are very hard to please as a family but each one of us said it was the best meal we’ve had in years and we couldn’t find one criticism between us. Highly recommended for a lucullan repast!

Wonderful experience at The Chubby Castor, we had no idea this fantastic gem was on our doorstep until recently!A beautiful culinary experience from start to finish, the expertise and exquisite execution of the balanced taste explosion dishes really wowed us tonight. Beautiful place with amazing staff members. Friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely exquisite.Yes the price is high, but fine dining comes at a cost and it’s worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.We were given complimentary home made breads, then a lovely apple mousse with onion and red peppers. And before dessert we also got a complimentary cinnamon donut with a passion fruit filling.Chefs are clearly very talented, thank you for a wonderful meal 🤗🤗
