Van Hage Cafe in Peterborough

Lacklustre service. Poor choice of meals. One hot meal sold yet another had to be ordered and wait 20 mins Cannot blame quantity of diners. Will not be coming again.

Had breakfast here yesterday.I have to say the staff all looked rather grumpy. Very slow service to boot. !

Cup of coffee and toasted tea cake. Coffee hot. Husbands tea hot. Toasted teacake brought to table by a lovely lady quick service. 3.15 when arrived nearly empty.

Clean, fresh , with the smell of fresh coffe in the air. Great choice of food and beverage. Very smart, friendly staff.Great experience.

The food was warm the black pudding had been under heat lamp so long it had formed a hard chewy crust. The latte was tepid. A lot of the plants outside were desperate for a drink. So all in all a not so good visit.

Popped in today for a look around the garden centre and fancied a bite to eat. Upon entering usual Covid procedures in place but quickly seated. We were advised before being seated that around a 25-35 minute wait for hot food, not a problem with that as it was fairly busy and limited staff. However, when our toasted sandwiches arrived a huge look of shock spread across our faces. These must have been run over by a steam roller they were so flat! Very, very bland and very dry, no butter had been applied to the bread to give it a tasty crust. Fillings were just 'plonked' in the middle with no thought on presentation whatsoever. The side salad was very nice and also the coleslaw it was just a shame that the 'main event, the toastie' was absolutely awful and the worst we have ever had and also not helped either by paper plates and plastic cutlery. Another comment my partner made was the resteraunt could do with a bit of a spruce up as it was looking a little tired.

Today the 18th of May, I went with my friend for a breakfast and it was a very bad experience. No customer service, no staff to help each other only one very kind lady was doing all the serving to the tables by herself! They didn't have the option of having bread as they don't have toasters! and you can't edit a breakfast to the options you want! Will not go again until the customer service here gets sorted!

Disappointing. Because of covid measures there was no atmosphere. Plastic plates and cutlery. Dried up food and staff that clearly didn't want to be there. Yes tables and chairs got sanitised but armrest were forgotten as if you don't touch them. Breakfast options had clearly been shrivelling up for hours. Coffee got served in a plastic cup. Costa can do better than that. Will not go back again.

Wonderful assortment of food and drinks, carvery, salads, jacket potatoes, pizza and more. Generous teapots.Lovely staff who helped with tray carrying, so we helped them by clearing our table.Fresh tasty food cooked on the premises. Large selection of beverages too.All nestled in the excellent centre that is Van Hage.Thank you.
