Barringtons in Rochford

From the moment we arrived we were treated to amazing service and pleasant conversation and most importantly the food was first class and cocktails too.We had a free glass of wine when my husband told them we were celebrating our anniversary.Our waitress even drove us back to our guest house 10 miles away after our taxi never showed up.We wanted to have a photo with our waitress below.

This is an incredibly welcoming place with great food and top drinks. Staff are always polite and very attentive.Steaks are amazing as is the rest of the food.We attended a wine tasting too. We don't remember getting out! Jokes aside, it was great fun. Mike is very good at making you feel special.Will be coming back. Thanks

Went in 3pm on a Friday (its opening time) and had the place to ourselves. Three courses, all excellent, with great craft beer in cans as well. Attentive, friendly waitress and great service. Oh, and as we ate before 6pm we got a 25% discount on our mains as well.Very pleasant experience and top marks. Won't be our last visit!

waitresses were very good and attentive. We had a Sunday roast which was very nice although the beef was rare which I think needed to be mentioned when ordering. But apart from my personal preferences on food my first visit was a good one. I will be returning. Thankyou.

Went to celebrate our son's birthday what a great evening best meal we had in a long time the food was excellent full of flavour and cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly and helpful definitely going back again

Eaten here before and the foods lovely, but the service is awful, often have to go in and wait 10 minutes in the lobby before anyone notices you, many of the staff spend their time looking you up and down and you get seated at a tiny table with no room.Most recent visit, stood in the lobby for 10 minutes and even waved to a barman who couldn’t care less, carried on chatting away, didn’t even bother waiting longer as the restaurant was empty bar one table.Shame as the food is great.

Always get a good steak here, cooked to your satisfaction. We were able to take advantage of the two for one promotion on the cocktails. Though there were time restrictions on your visit, the expectations fell in line to how long it took us to have our meal and we were not hassled.A pleasant evening.

Such a shame however probably the worst restaurant experience I have had for over 10 years. Far too much to cover but I would summarise however had to score a 1 as I couldn’t give a zeroWelcome = flustered front of house. Made to feel like an inconvenience and shoved in the corner for no reason.Starter = ran out of most things so settled for whatever they had left (of course at full price)Whilst the manager was coughing all over us. Not sure what had happened in the day as quite clearly he wished we never came in.Wine = palmed of with a unknown bottle which was awful (again not what was asked and of course had to pay the price of the one we wanted.Main = no cutlery half party ate with fingers.My meal never came and the waitress pretended that she was going to get it. Rest of the waitstaff looked extremely embarrassed as even they knew the whole experience was awful!. Other food in party was raw in the middle so on and so on!Waited for our plates to be cleared so just asked for the bill. And was told to go downstairs and pay on your way out. Nice thanks for thatTo save family embarrassment I paid the bill. Let me be straight if they were not with me I would of refused as the whole evening was a disgrace!First time in 25 years I haven’t left a tip!.Don’t bother with this place…. Seriously!!!!

Best burgers in Essex. I have stood by this statement for the last 4 years and nothing as of yet has convinced me otherwise.Barrington Grill is in the heart of Rayleigh, North end of the high street where the old ski shop used to be. The restaurant is very cozy but does not provide the best furniture, although recently have added cushions to provide comfort on the current hard chairs.Regardless of that, the food is AMAZING and that is why I and my family/friends continue to go there on a regular occasion. The main piece being the Barrington burger which is by far the best option in my opinion, although on the rare occasion a steak is a viable option.For any who enjoys a flavoursome and well prepared burger, I assure you will not be disappointed.The only negative comment I have of Barrington is that they recently stopped serving their delicious and thick milkshakes. For a great burger restaurant I really do think offering a tasty milkshake is what is missing.

Some points of my review:- Overall- Service- Price- Food Quality- CleanlinessOverall:Nice place to eat although if going during busy hours you will be there a long time and will be waiting a bit for food. Staff are friendly although I found them making small mistakes like forgetting parts of the order. Some stuff where a little more expensive than you would expect but the food was generally quite nice.Service:Staff members were friendly and more than happy to help sort out anything we needed. Going on a Saturday you might expect service to be slow however the service at Barringtons was exceptionally slow. A 2 course meal for 3 took 3 and a half hours from entering the premises to leaving granted some small time was spent deciding what to have and our table was certainly not the only table suffering slow service. Parts of the order were forgotten twice, once by the bar team forgetting a cider and another time by the kitchen staff forgetting a side order of cheese sauce.Price:I would definitely classify this as a ££-£££ price range establishment.The price for some items are what you would expect when going to eat out except some things are in my opinion were overly expensive (starters and sides mainly).Food Quality:The quality of food was good. The burger was bursting with flavour and the sides like mac n cheese and the onion rings were very nice.Cleanliness:The establishment was from what I saw exceptionally clean. Tables were clean and nicely laid out when we were shown to our table and there were no obvious uncleanliness around the eating area. Any mess that was seen on the floor was quickly cleaned up by staff.
