Saffron Tandoori in Rochford

Absolutely fantastic Indian restaurant. Easily one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. We have dined-in and ordered takeaway and they were both brilliant. Food is amazing and it looks like they really work to create a good experience inside the restaurant too.

First time here loved it food great. Service brilliant will return

The food I had was unbelievably good. Service was attentive and friendly. Onion bhajees crispy and served with a wedge of lemon. Love the food here.

Very good food but service was slow considering they weren't busy. Waited nearly an hour for our food, wonder how long it would be on a busy day

I and my family have using Saffron for well over 15 years and have always come back time and again but it seems that dishes I have grown to love have been changed. I naturally thought a new chef or under new management but I’m not sure this is the case because I would say dishes have been changed one by one slowly over time. It wasn’t an issue at first but since my last order it’s getting to the point where I don’t recognise any of the food.Before leaving this review, I emailed Saffron twice to give them an opportunity to explain but they have not responded.Truly gutting as I grew up eating from Saffron, it seems such a shame after all these years.

2nd visit to the Saffron with my two brothers , the first visit was good nice surroundings and the food was pretty good but not great, good service and a free drink at the end of the meal and reasonably priced.2nd visit and a vast difference, the service was just as good but unfortunately the food wasn't, my elders brothers chicken main meal had four small bones in, must of used wing or drumstick which is unacceptable, spoke to waiter who said "how unusual " and walked off with no apology and no reduction on the bill.We will not be using this restaurant again.

A one time regular customer of this restaurant when i lived just up the road, i reccomended to a friend and booked a table for a Saturday night. We arrived and were seated. We then waited 15 minutes for our menus and to place a drinks order and poppodums, poppodums and drinks arrived fairly quickly but waited another 20 mins after this for a waiter to come and take our order. During this time we people watched. The restaurant focus was entirely on the stream of delivery drivers for takeaways whilst of the 9 other occupied tables, not one had progressed to starters let alone main course. God knows how long they been sat but general mood seemed to be of dissatisfaction. Needless to say we declined to order further so cant review the food but feel that this once really good resraurant has lost its focus completely I wont be returning!!

7 ish on Tuesday night quite a lot of popped in was pleasantly surprised . Shown a table .Food was very nice. Will definitely use again

Our table of 4 was booked in at 9pm. I called the restaurant just after 8pm, and they said they could accommodate us coming in early. Food and service was impeccable! Will come back again soon.

We both had different dishes,The food came worm not hot,Now at 2:30am we are both vomiting and both have the taste as if we have drunk battery acid, can't get rid of it in our throats,We did feel the food came too quickly.
