This was our first visit to The Anchor for lunch and came away feeling we had found an excellent restaurant to eat in and recommendThe staff were very friendly and attentive. They clearly kept an eye on their guests from afarThe food was excellent and well presented. If you have room for a dessert I would recommend the apple rice pudding crumble!!!!Overall a very positive meal. Thank you

I have been to the Anchor a few times and always enjoyed the food and the location. Last Saturday I booked a table for dinner with my family including my 90 year old father and was shocked to discover there was a music event going on with 30 djs which we weren't told about when bookingThe pub and gardens were full of drunk people who had been there all day with very little security . The toilets were disgusting and we couldn't let my father or grandson go alone because it was quite threatening.

My children took us there for my 60th birthday dinner. We had an outside Pod which was cosy, 6 adults and 2 children. The food was amazing and plentiful. My partner had the fish & chips and said that's the best fish he has ever had. I had the roasted pork belly, absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Not an easy job for them walking from kitchen to the Pods, especially as the weather wasn't that nice. I hope their boss appreciates them! Would definitely go again.

Would have got 5 stars, but they didn't do any sandwiches or burgers for adults as a light lunch, only roasts and kids meals as it was a Sunday. They did allow us to choose from the kids menu though. It's great they allow dogs in. Staff were excellent and there was a good selection of beers👍🏼

Lovely filling food and friendly service in an excellent location. Great place to bring friends and family for food and drink. They have a lovely conservatory type area for eating with a view or outside seating and even some pods closer to the water. Can't fault it, see you next time.

I agree with other reviewers that the location, view and staff suggest a great place to eat, but the food was very disappointing. The menu looked interesting so my wife and I took our grandson (7) for lunch today. I had the Scotch Egg but the egg was over cooked (not soft and runny) and I wanted more of the dressing. My wife had port belly but was disappointed as it was a little dry. My grandson had a kid's beef burger but was put off by it's size and rustic look (that's kids for you, they eat with their eyes sometimes) so he swapped for some of my fish, and it was also a little dry. Deserts were ok but we were underwhelmed and disappointed overall as we thought we had found a new place to eat ... but we didn't.

Went for a birthday meal, my first visit.First impression was very favourable.Given that there were 11 of us, I was really impressed! Comfortable surroundings, very helpful staff. 11 starters all arrived at the same time, main courses too!Our waitress was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. All in all, The Anchor and its staff provided us with an excellent evening!

Had a great meal here yesterday. I found the menu was very diverse and the food was of high quality for a very reasonable price. However it was the service that I would rate at the biggest positive to Anchor. Our waitress was Laura. Service was fast and professional. We did not need to call over once and the restaurant are was relatively busy. Food came out hot and in good time. Overall a very good lunch and I will definitely be rebooking in the near future.

Beautiful day for sitting in the pub garden and eating food off their outdoor menu. Cheese burger and chips proved a hit especially as they had a gluten free version. Staff helpful and happy to assist whether you were eating inside or outside. Will revisit
