Very nice, staff really nice, good atmosphere, beautiful place, lots of outside space, dog friendly , didn't eat but menu looks good....

Although it was Father’s Day and we were a walk in (poor planning) Kerri and Roz were very accommodating and made space for us willingly. The food was delicious and we had a lovely Fathers Day brunch

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and food was gorgeous. Nice to go into a local pub that has so much history too. Great place and will definitely return.

Beautiful setting. You really feel like you are in the middle of the country! Unfortunately, the service was not so Beautiful. We booked a table, however, when we got there it was unclear where the table was and no staff around to ask.We went to the bar where we were told we could sit wherever and were told to order our food on the app, although, weren't told what app we needed. After searching Google to find out what app we needed (Ember Inns) we ordered our food.An hour and a half later our starters arrived, no apologies for the delay, or that the server had is thumb in my partners sauce! The roast dinner came out, I would estimate a further 30-45 mins later! (I would like to add, it was NOT busy). The roasts came without the parsnips, mine was missing the stuffin and my partners was missing the pigs in blankets! I would normally have said something when the server came over to check the food was OK, however, we didn't see the server (or anyone) until roughly 20-25 mins after we finished the food. I mentioned the above when he came over and he said 'someone should have told you we had no parsnips' and that the other missing food was 'on them'. No offer to bring out the pigs in blankets and stuffin. No offer of partial refund/free dessert or any offer of compensation and, to be quite honest, it was a pretty pathetic 'apology'!! There was a very distinct lack of customer service! Almost like us being there was more of an inconvenience!I would like to think I would go back, to give them a second chance, but if I did, it would only because of the lovely setting! I would be very dubious that the 'service' would be any better and that does put me off going back. The 3 starts a purely for the scenery, not the 'service'.

We had trio of roast for Sunday lunch. Good portion sizes & meat was cooked really well. Very tasty. For what you pay this is definitely better than the carvery chains, plus they bring it your table. If your looking for a deluxe roast this doesn't quite make the mark but for a general nice family Sunday roast then this is a gem. Service was good and atmosphere was pleasant. We would go again.

Reserved a table, arrived took 30mins to find someone to speak to, was told our table was around the other side, had to navigate to that area & the waiter did not follow us & show us our reserved table. then spent 10mins waiting to spk to someone from that area to ask where our table was finally got to talk to someone & spent half the conversation with her walking from the bar to behind a wall part way the through conversation. Our table had been taken by someone else despite having a reserved sign on it, took another 15mins for the table to be emptied by which time we had found another seat as my disabled friend needed to sit down as being sent backwards & forwards from different areas trying to navigate the different stair levels took it out of her. Took forever to get served, finally got our food & the 2 burgers were raw inside. Even when our plates were cleared u could visibly see the amount of uncooked food that was not eaten & no comment was made we were not asked how the food was as their clearly was an issue. Ate a few of the chips but that was about it, waste of money. Staff were rushed off their feet. Drinks were good & cocktails were nice but clearly cannot cope with the amount of people & food demand as just eat takeways get priority & you are just left waiting for your food. Clearly under staffed & the person in charge was very rude! Will not be back!

Warm welcome, cosy environment, great priced lunch menu. Good food. Not rushed between courses I only wish I lived more local.

Food and service were impeccable. Ambience just right and any noise was, as it should be, in the background. Excellent value for money. I will certainly return!

We had a table booked here for my brothers birthday, we arrived at 14.00 to be told there was an hours wait for food. We thought we could sit and have a drink while we waited, after around 30 minutes someone came and took our drinks order then after another 40 minutes our drinks turned up with 4 missing. We eventually found a staff member who told us the till roll had run out and that's why some of our drinks hadn't turned up! By the time they turned up most of us had finished ours and still hadn't had our food orders taken. After 90 minutes we decided to give up and leave. The restaurant was really short staffed, they were really apologetic and we felt really sorry for them but we would rather have been notified of the situation so we could make other arrangements. Instead of a nice family meal we all ended up in our own homes having takeaway, a birthday my Brother won't forget in a hurry!!
