Staff are lovely. Food is tasty and reasonably priced, takes a while but they are honest about how long it will take before you order.Docked 2 stars only because of mens toilets.Fix the extractor fan 👍

I went to the hungry horse pub the other day. There was a lovely person at the bar who greeted me with a smile . Been going here for years and never been disappointed. The food and drink was lovely and reasonably pricedWill be coming again

Been to the Traveller's Joy this afternoon, they were really busy but this did not stop the team from providing great service! Paige and Natalie were both amazing and you could see they were working very hard to make the experience a great one. Thank you for a great lunch.

Visit this location with my partner and young son based on the reviews I saw on Google unfortunately they were clearly having a off day as not only once but twice my partner's food arrived cold we were also not told either That no roast potatoes were not available as stated on the menu so they were substituted with fries with out our consent we did receive a refund for our food and a free dessert offered however having spoken to other people in the venue at the same time it was clear that they have had a awful experience on this occasion including someone finding plastic in their food who didn't even get offered compensation it appears so we gave them our free pudding due us having to go by the time it actually arrived I certainly won't be revisiting and I hope those that continues to frequent this establishment have a better experience then we did

Visited for evening meal in Southend with family, where I had the mixed grill. Impressed with the contents of the plate. Steak was cooked as ordered, chips, peas, onion rings, gammon, egg, etc. Only chicken were slightly overcooked with a slimy seasoned coating (assume dipped in seasoned flour?)

Sat straight down, ordered our food which arrived almost instantly. I was impressed with the speed of service and friendly staff. I had the Full Monty mixed grill which left me bursting at the seams.

This is my first time eating at the travellers joy. Overall the food was really good, however the floor where we was seated was really dirty. I understand it was really busy, it takes a couple of minutes to clean in-between bookings.

Regulars at the weekly quiz, the staff are so friendly and accommodating to our group. Adam, Wendy, Paige, Ruby and Trish always give us a warm welcome as do the rest of the team. Some nights can be busy for food as the meal deals are so good, for example you can get a main meal for just over a tenner with a free starter or dessert on a Thursday. Great value for big portions! Food is always tasty and served hot and presented well. We have our favourites on the menu and some we aren’t so keen on but that’s a matter of taste. We used to like the Katsu curry chicken which has unfortunately left the menu for the time being but there is plenty to choose from for every taste, also if you are after gluten free or vegetarian choices. We find it clean and if you ask for anything the staff will do their best to please. The pub is sectioned into different areas, suitable for adults only dining, family friendly dining, and a bar area which will still serve food. There’s a lot of TVs dotted around, pool table and a dart board in the bar area. For an all rounder pub restaurant you can’t really beat it locally in my opinion. Good location for nights out with friends or family.

Food was good value for money, little disappointing that I could not claim back parking money even though the machine stated if spent £5 at the bar £3 could be refunded however was told when I got in the pub if paid for parking over the phone this could not be refunded, I feel the sign should state this. Table was really dirty and messy when we arrived and was taken to this table, had to ask for it to get cleaned. Also had to ask for cutlery. Food was nice but experience was not great
