Lovely unexpected gem in Elsworth. The Belly Pork is fantastic . This place is known as a fish restaurant. I'm not a fish fan, but that's ok, as there's something for everyone here.

Very disappointed with the food portions & very expensive for what was ordered. Once we were sitting at the table & given our menus, we we told that couple of items were not available. Just a while later, while looking at the menu's we were told the Fryer had broken so no fried fish or chips.Chips were substituted with new potatoes. I decided on the sirloin steak medium rare. When the meal was served I was astonished with the size of the portion. (Picture attached) the steak was of poor quality & tough. Hardly any vegetables you would expect with the steak meal. Very poor presentation. If I wasn't entertaining, I would have sent it back. I will definitely not return.

We were first time visitors tonight. We love in Newcastle but I spend a lot of time in Huntington with work so we have visited a lot of establishments in and around the area and this has to be one of the very best. I had a starters of scallops and prawns followed by sea bass and tiger prawns and both were superb. To top it off the service was exceptional. Thank you for a fabulous dining experience, we will be back very soon.Neil and Julie Marsden

7 of us for Mothers Day lunch. We all ate a variety of dishes for the 3 courses and everyone enjoyed every dish. Food is fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Came here as part of a group booking for the MG Owners Club. We were seated in the function room just off of the bar because there were so many of us. The food was excellent and the waiting staff did really well getting all the meals out to such a large gathering. Didn't get much of a look at rest of the place (but vaguely remember it from years ago!) but it has a very warm & welcoming atmosphere.

Not only was the food amazing, fantastic fish menu including great specials, the customer service was exceptional.Unfortunately we had car trouble, and ended up having to wait for the AA until late on Saturday night. One member of staff let us use her car to attempt a jump start, and another (Nicole) refused to leave us outside, even well after closing time, giving up her evening to stay with us, and did not leave until making sure the car was working (after midnight). She also offered to drop us home for free if we had no luck, and we couldn't have been more grateful. We will definitely be recommending and returning!

We were squeezed in despite the restaurant being really busy and we’re really glad we were. The food was delicious and well presented, all the staff were super friendly and really nice and the atmosphere was buzzing. I’d recommend the George to anyone especially fish lovers as the choices of fish on the menu are amazing.

Food was fine, service was great and staff spot on. Atmosphere was empty.Potions were small all round, kinda pricey. Dishes said they came with veg on the side but there was 1 small dish between 3 of us, not impressed.Their Christmas menu was underwhelming.
