Indian Ocean in South Cambridgeshire

I visited here about a month ago with some friends and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and the quality of food served here.I ordered a Vegetable Biriyani with Raitha and I really liked the flavour of the dish and the way it was presented! If I had any criticisms, it would be that the Biriyani wasn't spicy enough for me and that the Raitha was basically just yoghurt and had to be ordered seperately.However, I really appreciated that the Biriyani came with Vegetable Curry. The quantity of the food was great as well! I will definitely recommend this place.

Been here a couple of times now and enjoyed take aways on many other occasions. The food has always been excellent.

Great food, No Lime Pickle on the table with the poppadoms unless requested..bit strange

Refurbished since my last visit pre-Covid. No longer looking old and pokey. Looks more spacious and brighter than before. Ordered the lamb Jalfrezi which was very tasty....and fiery!! The lamb was meltingly tender. Only one drawback though on the evening....they no longer have chapatis!! .Please bring back chapatis?!?!

Came here for a evening with three of my friends food was absolutely delicious not over priced and a great atmosphere

The website menu states chicken curry @ £8.50. I chose lamb shank which they did not have, so I went for chicken curry and when the bill arrived I was charged £14.00 which I queried. I was told chicken curry was not on the menu only Madras which I did NOT have. They decided to deduct the service charge from the bill which I did not have to pay anyway. The food was good but I am, very disappointed and will probably avoid in the future.

Great food. Lovely staff. I ordered a lamb Rogan Josh and was offered a slow cooked lamb shank at a couple of quid more....fantastic. The evening was almost ruined by the professional complainers, why do these prats go out, on the next table. We asked to be moved to another table away from Mr and Mrs I'm so important and we were. The puddings are really good.

Good Indian. My husband and I love an Indian and eat many, and have eaten many all around the world. This was an ok Indian, tasty enough and good sized positions. The online ordering tool isn’t the best which is a shame. Prices are quite high, but I think probably average for Cambridge. There’s a little bit of parking straight out front. Nice enough, and we enjoyed it, but definitely not the best we have ever had.

I am crazy for Indian food. I was hardly able move after our dinner. Wish I could eat here every night. Very scrumptious, amazing food.

We returned whilst in the area having not been for at least 10 years when we remember it being the best Indian in the surrounding area (nearby villages incl. Cambridge).That judgment still stands and the Indian Ocean is as fantastic as it previously was. Naturally, there’s an updated menu with all the standard curries but there’s a range of house specialities. I had the Goan Green curry which was superb. The chicken dhansak was good also, although a bit light on the lentils.Service was good and the prices reasonable. It was nice to see all of the tables taken on a Saturday evening, which I don’t recall being the case 10 years ago so I’d recommend booking on popular evenings.Would definitely return when next in and around Cambridge and fancying an Indian.
