We booked a table in advance for 2pm.We sat down and were given drinks and a menu. Then we were told at 2.15pm that the beef and lamb had run out because they had been busy, and only had turkey left. There were many empty tables- I have seen much busier places coping better than this. They complained about being short staffed but we had been approached by four different waiters/waitresses including one who seemed to be the landlady. At 2.20pm we were told that they had no roasts left at all (remember we had booked, and this was 20 minutes after our booked time, we had be left waiting). We ordered the beef pies, although I do regret not getting up and walking out, but I did not want to upset my family, but I think it would have been for the best. Ten minutes later at 2.30 we were told that they only had two beef pies left and that two of us would have to have the chicken and ham pies or order something else - Oh, why did I not walk out? They clearly put the pies in the oven at this point because our dinner arrived another half an hour later just after three o clock. We had booked for two o clock – our meal was given to us quite late. The pies were not properly cooked – the pastry underneath was very grey and soggy. I could not eat most of the pastry. The contents of the pie was poor as well. The vegetables were sparse and tasted bland. This was the worst eating out experience of my life. Please steer clear of this place they have no conscientiousness toward customers and over charge for poor quality food. They made no compensation for their poor service and seemed oblivious of it.I have on odd rare occasions in the past been in establishments where staff have been a little slow, but they have compensated in some way, and everything else was fine. Not this place – oblivious and could not care less, and no redeeming features.I hope that they do not ask me to explain why I did not complain at the time. It was basically a hopeless case and I should have left earlier and not compounded my misery.

Food was very nice, but service was slow. It took some time for orders to be taken. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and was flavourful. We waited 13 minutes after we asked to see a desert menu for the menues to arrive, and another 12 minutes before someone came back to take an order. Once again, the deserts were very good, once they arrived.

Lovely, friendly, bit on the expensive side but it is good value. Its a nice place to take the children to play of which many pubs have done away with.

Very nice gastropub. Good friendly service. Food was excellent. Would recommend a visit as it is easy to find and has good parking.

Visited this restaurant for a family lunch food was excellent although a bit pricey but you pay for good service and ingredients. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Good place in an easily accessible location. I visited this place as part of a company lunch gathering. My food (Thai red curry) was great, however there was a small piece of broken glass/transparent plastic stuck in my cauliflower. Although I didn't raise an alarm considering it was sponsored by someone else but hopefully the pub takes a note of this experience.P.S.- I am not looking for any free food or looking for any extrapolated publicity but please ensure foreign objects like broken glass doesn't end up in one's dishes.
