Delicious food and really lovely tearooms! Would love to visit again

We had lovely homemade cake, there was an extensive tea selection and we had tasty homemade sandwiches to takeaway. They also made our toddler very welcome. We're looking forward to visiting again.

We had a lovely afternoon tea for Mother’s Day. Tearoom is very quaint and cosy, staff are incredibly friendly and food tasty, especially the sandwiches! Would just say that one way to improve it further would be for scones to be homemade. With the fairly steep price and the fact it’s a quintessentially British tearoom, we were a bit disappointed that they weren’t homemade. We had a lovely time though and would go back. Thank you!

Our first time back since the new owners took over and they are really keeping up the excellent reputation it had! Everything was perfect. I had the best cheese and tomato toastie I have ever had! A welcome coffee stop during our ride from Cambridge 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️

Fantastic food and fantastic service! I recommend Teacake to others and will be back myself! Called ahead to ensure a table for lunch on my grandmother’s birthday. Not only did they hold a nice table for us indoors, they were very accommodating of our timing needs, and put some decorations on the table! Everyone there was lovely, and the dining room is perfect for a casual tea or lunch. The food was also delicious! Food was flavourful and very fresh. We tried a bit of everything, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Highly recommend the Mediterranean veggie tart! Coffee and tea are both great as well.Thank you for such an enjoyable experience!

Working from home lunch with other half, a warm baguette with chicken and avocado, and a cheese and ham toastie. Warm friendly staff,quick service. Great food and drinks.

Excellent spot for lunch or tea and cake, gets packed on a Sunday booking advisable. Please be nice to the staff they can only go so fast and the food is delicious.

A good place for a snack. Had a cheese and ham toasty on seeded bread nicely presented. Also pot of tea.

Great tearooms. Owners are lovely and cannot do enough to ensure pleasurable experience. Cream tea platters are amazing!

Update March 2020: regular visitors to this wonderful cafe. No longer have the books but the atmosphere is still great. Busy and vibrant as ever. Always pleasant service and best of all great cakes.It's closed now. Used to be a lovely little place but the owners have sold up and emigrated so no more teacake Saturday's. Which is a shame because they used to have a selection of books which you could read as well.
