The Golden Ball Hotel in South Cambridgeshire

Service very good. Food very tasty,although my salmon was overcooked the sauce with it was delicious. All other meals very good.

Meal was ok. They were flexible with arrival time as we had traffic problems, this was appreciated. Unfortunately we seemed to get forgotten when it came to ordering dessert.

Had lunch today with my parents. Excellent service despite the fact they were extremely busy!! Food was bountiful and piping hot. Burgers were especially good!

Update. The Golden Ball is now dog friendly so we were able to have lunch there today. It is as good as everyone was saying. Friendly, comfortable, great food. Will be back soon.

Fantastic meal, hot plates with very good service had a starter plus main very good portions and tasty food. Too full for a dessert. Will definitely be backWell worth a visit.

Great varied menu. Some basic pub food but also some more unusual meals plus lighter lunches. Very well cooked and presented. I had the Thai crab cakes and cauliflower pakora with a great chutney. It was all very tasty. Very good service.

Food very disappointing. And Very slow service. A shame because it's a lovely place with ultra lovely, friendly staff! 10 years ago this place served the best food in the country, now it just doesn't.It probably doesn't help that I remember just how good this place used to be..

After an extremely pleasant four mile walk around Boxworth with my walking group, we ate lunch at The Golden Ball. It is a really good example of an English country pub, serving hearty and wholesome English food. I had proper steak and kidney pudding (for the first time in probably fifty years!) with mash, veg, and (at my special request) additional lashings of gravy. It was brilliant! The others in the group were happy with their food too. Service was excellent, and mine host was a suitably friendly and jocular example of an English pub landlord. We took his recommendations on two bottles of wine which perfectly accompanied the food. At £24 per head all in we felt it was very good value for money. Thoroughly recommended.

Incredibly friendly staff and yummy food! Came for Sunday lunch with the family and it was delicious, already back again for more food. The staff couldn’t be more friendly & inviting!
