Food was wonderful and pie of week was amazing. Friendly landlord. Was a bit slow service but as we weren't in a rush it was fine.

Small bar, ALWAYS have a good ale or two on though. Friendly atmosphere and nice food, usually only have a nibble (have had a couple of lunches though) - disappointed no Scotch Eggs this time. However, that's a very minor niggle, this is a lovely village pub.

Friendly genuine host. Really good covid precautions. Good quality and reasonably priced food, not fine dining but very fine food. Go there.

Four of us had a very enjoyable lunch at The Poacher today. It was easy to book by 'phone and our two dogs were made very welcome. The food was excellent: an extensive choice and substantial helpings. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

A very filling meal of proper old fashioned food in a lovely old style country pub.We were well looked after by the jovial David and both enjoyed every aspect of the meal.We will almost certainly return when we can. This place is ideal for proper no nonsense food in pleasant surroundings.Thank you David.

Picture perfect pub with gorgeous thatch and garden. Unfortunately the landlord did not make me and three of my friends feel welcome. Told us food would be at least an hour and a half, then proceeded to bring sauces and cutlery out for other arriving guests. Had a pint and left for a hugely better experience at the other pub in the village.

Very nice meal and one of the only local pubs open on a Monday! Garden lovely and food all homemade. Highly recommended.

Really nice atmosphere in this country pub. The landlords are very friendly and run the place single handed. The menu is fairly comprehensive and what we had was home-cooked with no fuss. It's not the cheapest food but I really didn't mind paying for the privilege of enjoying, what is fast becoming, a dying national treasure... Perhaps one little heads up - if you order a meal that has gravy, ask for it on the side because they do not scrimp! Also, the veggie gravy that came with the Glamorgan sausages was a little sweet although the herb mash was delicious.

Very friendly, water provided for the dog, excellent food. Be warned if you want a pudding make sure you don't leave it too late, kitchen cleaned down before 2.3o!
