There's a sense that this highly attractive, welcoming gastropub overreaches itself in accepting more bookings than it can logically cope with; surely a 30 minute wait for a main course stretches the envelope particularly given that we were asked to vacate immediately we had reached our venue-imposed two-hour window. But that said we had terrific service from Elliott and the ambience is amazing, if crowded. It's a happy place for happy families.

A gorgeous pub inside with a shabby chic exterior. This is no ordinary pub grub, but a lovely fine dining cuisine. The lunch menu is very affordable but dinner an extra special treat. If you sit outside in the summer with views over the pond and hundreds of damselflies- it's so beautiful. The food is always great quality and the waiters very friendly.

First visit since before the pandemic, and the Tickell Arms is as excellent as ever. Everything we chose from a very good menu was delicious and well-cooked. Service is friendly and efficient. The spacious rooms and well-separated tables help to keep the environment feel safe. Good value for the quality of the food and experience. My only slight niggle is with the policy of pre-adding the service charge. Not because there was anything wrong with the service and I would have paid as much, or more, than was added anyway. But it should be a choice to reward good service. I know the service charge could have been deducted if I hadn't been happy, but in those circumstances it would just create an awkward situation.

Food was beautiful (beef roast and pork belly both absolutely gorgeous), spot on and it is lovely premises with a relaxed atmosphere, very child friendly. Service was a bit of a let down unfortunately, three separate drink orders were forgotten today, after the third I just gave up - shame because otherwise it could have been a perfect 5-star review. I know it was busy, but three forgotten drink orders is a bit much.

9 of us had lunch here and they were very patient with us! Food was lovely and service was good too. Pictures are from the set lunch menu which was £22.50 for 3 courses.

Always a fantastic experience......Having just come back from another wonderful Sunday lunch at the The Tickell Arms its fair to say that they are very consistent in the offering and the service. Having been in its sister restaurant The Chop House the night before The Tickell Arms gives just as good service (If not a little better) and the food and drinks never disappoint. But its the service that make this place stand out.Sure great food and drink offerings make a real statement but the service is always the cherry on the top of the cake and this cake is spot on. Attentive, but not to "In your face" polite and helpful The Tickell Arms gets it just right. Oh and they remember you from your last visits, I can safely say we will remember them....

Food was mainly very good, the vegetarian dish a bit boring, and service nice and friendly. We had booked and paid a deposit of £80 for 8 people but on the morning 2 cancelled due to illness and we let the restaurant know. The bill then only had £60 refunded as notice was less than 24 hours. That is fair enough on a busy day, but Wednesday lunch time when it was virtually empty seems a bit mean. Result is that long term they lose out as we won't go back.

I came here for their Christmas lunch and it was delicious. All the courses felt different from one another and were very well put together. Not only that, but the portion sizes didn't detract from the delicacy or finesse of the dishes like they do in some restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made my meal even more enjoyable.
