Wood Grill at The Queen Adelaide, Croydon Village in South Cambridgeshire

The food was, delicious, I had lamb chops and potatoes. Sometimes lamb can be cooked well but lack in flavour, however, wood grill had one of the most flavourfilled lamb chop I’ve had in a while.We stumbled on this restaurant by accident having been stranded in the neighbourhood, the food took away all our anxiety and frustration.I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to any and everyone.Really pleased with my experience there.

Excellent. Found this place by accident returning home from a day out and looking for a decent place to eat. We certainly found that. I will be returning. Service excellent, food excellent, venue excellent. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my experience here. Very easy to get hold of on the phone, table booked without issue. Promptly sat to our table and provided water without having to ask 👍🏿. Drinks order taken and brought back quickly. Just enough time given to look over the menu, although I'd already decided before I left home what I'd like.Really good flavour to the wings, first place in a while where I've been given a finger bowl. My wife's starter looked good and she thoroughly enjoyed it.Main course was really enjoyable. T bone steak was beautiful, cooked as requested, really good flavour to the meat, peppercorn sauce was lovely. Too much salt on the chips for my liking but it didn't take away from a very expertly cooked steak. Artichokes on a pizza were new but went down very well.Enjoyed being able to eat and chat without feeling like we needed to leave or they needed to give our table to someone else. Very relaxed and warm vibe in the restaurant. Will definitely recommend and will hopefully be coming back in the future.

Nice and spacious decor, background music fine for conversation.Great table service, decent house wine, excellent menu for meat eaters or pizza lovers, plus some fresh fish choices, and a few vegetarian options.Food arrived promptly. All four main meals (port ribs, grill burger, two different fish dishes) were judged top notch, deserts were gorgeous, plus good coffee. Didn't rush us out the door at the end. Reasonably priced.Highly recommended!

Combined a lunch here with a visit to Wimpole Hall . On the hottest day of the year, A/C was so welcome. Pulled pork and wood burger - both tasty. Presented with a smile and great courtesy. Really lovely feel inside. Would really recommend. Chatting to Mustapha, the co-owner, we really got a sense of pride about the place. We even got a complimentary taste of the chicken wings-yummy.

We had our wedding reception at the wood grill in Croydon, well what else can be said other than spectacular!We hired the whole venue and had a buffet for our guests, the team were amazing, so welcoming and professional.The food was to die for! And we cannot thank you enough for making our day so special.All of our guests commented that it was incredible.

The owner is downright rude, argumentative and someone who shouldn't be in the hospitality game. I have never been spoken to so rudely to in my life...his attitude stinks and to be told to leave and never return and call me a Liar about what I'd ordered when he was clearly in the wrong, has shocked me to the core....but no worries i wouldn't return to your establishment EVER!What ever happened to the customer is always right...to tell me I ordered a chicken pizza when I know i would never do that, as don't like chicken on pizza is beyond comprehension.What a shame we were never able to judge your chefs skills because of your lack of front of house skills. 😡🤬😠

I have never been treated so rudely in a hospitality setting. A rather luke-warm greeting by (who we now know is the owner), no smiles, no conversation. We ordered drinks and then he took our order. About 2 mins later a waitress came over to take our order. We explained the man had already taken our order and she just rolled her eyes and said, “he just told me to come and take your order” and walked away shaking her head. Our order (two pizzas and two sides) arrived. Once he’d walked away we realised one of the pizzas was wrong and not what we had ordered. He came over and told us he would change it but that it was us that was wrong and we had asked for the ‘Pollo’ pizza. We said we hadn’t asked for a pizza with chicken on it and that we had ordered the Chorizo (my friend distinctly remembered he’d corrected her annunciation of the word chorizo). He once again said he had written it down correctly and it was our mistake. He was becoming a little aggressive in his tone of voice at this point. My friend and I felt very uncomfortable and we both suggested that maybe we should leave to which he said “and please don’t come back here ever again” very loudly in front of other customers. THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE IN HOSPITALITY and reading other reviews, other customers have said the same!

First time visiting the Wood Grill and was very impressed not only by the service but the quality of the food.The ambience was very nice, subtle music whilst enjoying a lovely evening.We will definitely recommend and are sure to come back for another visit.
