I’ve just spent the most wonderful afternoon with our family to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. The Bird In Hand did us proud with excellent food and wine and great service. If you’re having a celebration, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Peter R.

Really good food, lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff... what more could you ask for?I had probably the best, certainly the tastiest lasagne I've ever had with a tasty side salad. Husband had the pork special with gammon, pork belly and a lovely thick sausage with black pudding so he's well pleased! Desserts look delicious but we are too full to try... so we will have to return!!Would thoroughly recommend 👌EDIT... we caved in and had a dessert between us... cremes brulee with homemade shortbread... delicious!

Food was very good but some less good aspects. Initial coke drinks sent back... no fizz! Waited a long time for desserts which were all wrong! They were repeats for a table already served who had already left! Then another wait for correct ones! Hence would think twice about returning 🤔

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch. Portions were generous, well presented and very tasty. Ale was great too, tp go with it. The setting is lovely and it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Lovely afternoon here with my grown up children. I so needed this. The peace of being outside in the sun in the quiet countryside, great company and beautiful food served quickly and with great service. We really appreciated the warmth and efficiency of the lady that looked after us. Beer garden is super and from what I saw of inside it looked fabulous. Lovely menu but when I see a great pub I cannot resist fish and chips and we were not disappointed. My son had the burger he said it was delicious too. We willbe back.

Hasn't been there for quite some time, but really pleased to "discover" it again. So helpful and friendly staff, fitting it's in a short notice. Tasty lunch although a bit sad they'd served a different soup of the day to the one originally advertised. Won't stop us from revisiting though.

The meat was so tough that it took a minute to chew a mouthful, poor veg (tinned carrots, frozen peas and a slack bit of red cabbage). Gravy was effectively water and the "sides" were two caulifower florets with a bit of cream cheese. One potato that had been cut in half which was far from crispy or soft in the middle. After immediately tasting the meat and said we weren't going to pay, we were shouted at by the manager as we tried to leave. Awful hospitality, terrible food and no respect for customers or a decent roast. Never eat here!!!

We had a gorgeous lunch here. The chicken liver parfait and prawn cocktail are very moorish worth and my son says the sausage and mash (kids menu) is "very tasty". The staff were extremely welcoming from telephone booking to service and payment. They brought out our home-made birthday cake with the candles we had handed them and joined in the birthday wishes. Can't thank them enough. Back soon.

Turned up on a Sunday and chanced a lunch attempt without a booking. We were seated straight away and service was great. We had the vegetarian roast (lentil and mushroom strudel) and I have to say it was excellent. Brilliant taste and presentation for really good value. We'll be back!!

Perfect setting, beautifully maintained village pub. Large restaurant area and smaller drinking area. Large outside space for drinking and dining and very well lit. Huge carpark and b&b facilities. Food is very good, tad pricey but you get what you pay for. Always friendly staff.
