Merv's Hot Bread Kitchen in South Norfolk

We always buy our bread from Mervs and would recommend it. He does a wide selection of cakes and treats too, which seem to be popular. I can't vouch for these, as I'm not permitted them for dietary reasons.

Purchased another fantastic Battenberg, one of the many delicious bakery items on sale. Served by wonderful people.

Oh my word. What a lovely bakery!!!Their seeded loaf is divine ... out of this world.I've been on a booking in this area for almost 3 weeks. Sarah was consistently courteous, friendly and helpful no matter how full and busy the shop was.To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger... "I'll be back" 😃

Working round the corner building a house and come here everyday for a cuppa tea and a sausage roll. Tea's good and there happy to fill my thermos mug which has more volume than there cups and the sausage rolls are huge! Like properly thick and always warm.Staff are friendly and always remember my order.Lovely place!

The attitude of a women working in this bakery is absolutely disgusting, snappy rude and just generally not a very person!You my women need to have a word with yourself , if you don't enjoy your job leave!Good job the quality of food isn't very nice other wise I'd miss using this place!

We love Merv's -weekly ritual in lockdown has been to walk the dog on a Saturday morning stopping here on way home. Dog gets free sausages courtesy of Merv and we get freshly baked bread and pastries. Lovely local bakery.

We're able to make a big birtt cake at surprisingly short notice. It was massive, delicious and not overly expensive. Very pleased all round.

This is definitely our favourite bakery. Fantastically helpful staff, serving a large selection of breads, pastries, crepes, and hot pasties. The all-day breakfast roll is a classic.

Bought some sausage, egg and bacon turnover thing.Consisted off a hard boiled egg, cheap bacon and sausage wrapped in pastry - doubt anyone at the bakery has tried this.Do you know what happens to a hard boiled egg that’s then re-baked? Turns into bulletproof rubber.Sausage sandwich also consisted of a dry stale bap with a whole poor quality sausage thrown in. Didn’t bother buttering the roll either.No care over the products here.
