I had breakfast today. The food was really good. But the staff were even better.Jade was outstanding looking after us. She went above and beyond to make our visit perfect.

Fabulous food. But it was extremely busy, especially as the serving staff also had to deal with a large number of takeaway orders. Took 45 minutes in various queues. Would probably not go back: dining out is more than just the food - the whole experience matters too.

Have enjoyed the carvery here many times. The staff are polite and professional. The place is a little bit dated but as to be expected for a country pub. Would be 5 stars but last few times we've been the meat at the carvery has not been great. Either over cooked or stringy.

Food was lovely but 2 out of the 4 staff I came in contact with weren't very helpful. We were told we couldn't have one of the desserts as they had sold out then overheard another table being told they had all the ingredients for the same desert but had to choose a different sauce. My brother in law then paid extra for a couple of strawberries in a bottomless Sunday for my neice to be given orange segments because they had run out. When he said he didnt want that he was given a bowl without a refund We also didn't receive spoons for our desserts and then the server returned with them without speaking to us as if it's such a problem to have spoons with our desert.. waiters didn't know what they were doing and when asked if it was the rocky road desert said 'um.. I think so?'

We were really pleasantly surprised by the Carvery. The meat was great - I hate overdone beef, but this was just right - and a good range of veg, none of it dried out or overcooked. Busy, but good service. And the children's menu was excellent. Decor and surroundings nothing much to write home about, but prices good. All in all, excellent value.

Was very busy when I arrived at 2.15pm. Queue for carvery was long, but went quick to counter. Had choice of 4 different meats to choose from, and big variety of vegetables to choose from. Everything was piping hot. The meat was cooked to perfection and all veg was perfect too. It was my 1st visit here, but not my last. The staff were run off their feet, but all were very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back, I left feeling very full, and happy at the excellent food. I would recommend this carvery is well worth the visit. Well done to all the people who worked so hard today.

It's been many years since we've last been here so was quite looking forward to it. First impressions not great, ordering drinks we noticed the bar was very dirty, we stuck to it, it looked like it hadn't had a food wipe down for days. That said we all chose the carvery which was really good, so filling we couldn't squeeze in a dessert!Service was nice and friendly they just need to improve cleanliness.

I'd visited the Village Inn a couple of times before. A lovely feel to the place. We recently booked my father's wake here. We were well looked after by James, from the initial meeting right through to the day itself. Always happy to help with any queries I had. Great friendly staff and a homely feel. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely place 😁. Front of house still has the "small pub" vibe. But then it opens up to quite a substantial eating area 😁. Staff were great and quite attentetive without being "in your face" (that's a good thing). Food was lovely, we had a small carvery and a Calzone. And drinks. All at an excellent price 😁. Tables were a little sticky but not enough to put us off. Would i recommend a visit... 100% yes. We are going to try the breakfast tomorrow... stay tuned 😁👍
