Barru in Southend-on-Sea

First time going and definitely won’t be the last time. Food was served at a reasonable time and tasted great. The restaurant it self was clean, pretty and had a nice atmosphere. Also, the staff were very friendly: lovely experience.

Went for friends birthday meal , every one raved about the dishes they had chosen. The restaurant also had a card machine issue but contacted us before hand to warn us.More impressive was I forgot my coat and they looked after it for a couple of weeks. Lovely honest people

Would highly recommend Barru if you want a fab, fun filled night with fantastic food and great entertainment. We celebrated our friend's birthday here last night.. Food was excellent, great cocktails, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A special thanks to our waiter who looked after us. We will definitely be back.

Me and my friends had a pre-show meal here last night, we arrived late but was given a warm greeting, the service was good, cocktails were amazing and the food was delicious! Also got a discount when we showed our theatre tickets. Would highly recommend this place and I will be booking more pre-show meals here in the future

Love this place, amazing fresh and flavourful food, cooked fresh. Huge amounts with all the trimmings.Good valve, vegetarian friendly. High recommend. More of a couple's venue but I would be comfortable to take children. Small but very friendly.Looks like it could be a lovely bar of an evening.

Honestly we ended up here because where we planned to go was closed. What a happy accident. Service first rate and the food amazing. 1st time with Turkish food. For sure not the last. P.S. great drinks menu too.

Visiting Barru for the first time for dinner before going to the cliffs pavilion. A 10 minute walk from the theatre. Food was really good and lots of it. Staff were very friendly and would definitely return again

Visited for afternoon lunch. Was served straight away.the staff where very polite and professional. Breads and dips where delicious and the main...WOW!!!!!! Best iskender I've ever eaten and I've had a fair few.absolutely amazing 👏 will definitely be returning soon.there is NO equal to this place!

What a fantastic place. I had the vegetarian moussaka which was delicious! My family got the platter and loved every bite. The service was exceptional, they really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.To top it off, they have an amazing singer who also takes request. A real gem to find! Definitely go and experience it for yourself

Everyone needs a bit of the Mediterranean this time of year! We went last week and had the meze for 2 people. We ate every last bit and enjoyed some tasty cocktails! The food and atmosphere was a lovely reminder of holidays in Cyprus.
