Caffe Nero - Southend-on-Sea in Southend-on-Sea

Lovely coffee and staff! Sometimes, the loos can be messy, as people use them as public loos, even with key control.

One of my favourite coffee places in Southend (tied to the Costa down the road). Really amazing old building with high ceilings instantly makes the place seem less crowded that it actually might be. Staff are very friendly and the coffee is really good. Overall less crowded than the Costa

I was given a piece of Tiramisù cake that was completely stale. The cream was dry as well as the sponge, I had to ask to change it with something else as that was a health and safety concern to be honest. The barista was very abrupt, even though she offered to replace it with any other cake, I had to pick a croissant to avoid a food poisoning. Obviously I didn't receive a refund for the difference of price ending up to pay a croissant the price of a slice of cake. I don't really think it is safe to sell cakes in that condition, especially when it's a Tiramisù containing either mascarpone or whipped cream.

Visited a few times now. Feels more relaxed than Costa, nice coffee. Dog friendly too.

Nice place to grab a drink. Could definitely do with a renovation, don't expect to be able to use the toilet always locked. Staff are friendly although they give you the look of death if you chose to sit in after 5pm.

Such a nice place to get a coffee or hot choc, I love how spacious it is inside and it feels less busy than Costa which is nice. Deffo need to come back here as it has been a while. Staff are friendly too x

Never too busy and the staff are always friendly, helpful and serve up good coffee.

Guess little bit busy and due to people taking chairs from other tables even untidy. Had to vipe down our own table as nonstaff available. However great customer service and food including drinks.

Terrific flat white and delicious caramel chocolate thingy. Lovely staff too.
