I’m not one to leave negative reviews but this place is something else. Rude and unhelpful staff and the treats in there are sub-standard and inedible. The doughnuts box we ordered were £12 and they were freezing cold and soggy. We returned them and were told they were made fresh this morning (this was 7pm at night). We’d ordered other dishes which were equally as bad but the server became hostile toward us when we asked for a part refund. I would avoid this place as it does not represent good customer service or value for money.

Left note on order to knock door and not ring bell as kids asleep - delivery driver rang repeatedly, not giving me time to even get to the door between rings. When I pointed it out, he copped an attitude despite the receipt stapled to the bag stating the instructions. Proceeded to wake my youngest... That was actually the best experience with the order, believe it or not.I ordered the chicken waffle bites with maple syrup. Maple syrup packed in a pot with loose cling film, I'm sure you can imagine the state with which it arrived. Let's just say there were about 2ml of syrup left in the pot.Opened the box to find a full waffle with random.chicken bits in it, not the bites as stated. Now for the worst part... bit into it and had to spit straight back out - RANCID GONE OFF CHICKEN! When you go close to the waffle you can SMELL the rotten chicken THROUGH the batter. Utterly disgusting! And if I didn't prefer to stay alive, I would have eaten it just so I could sue them, that way they could never serve this vile health hazard to anyone ever again! I'm about to call the restaurant after this review, but PLEASE don't buy from here! I ought to call trading standards tbh.Delivery time was the only acceptable thing.

Have to use online website which is poorly created to eat in/takeaway, give out personal details for a £9 waffle. Won't be having my business anymore, was great, now its infuriating to try an order anything from this place.

Used to be decent get a waffle get about 6 strawberries sliced up I think I had one strawberry and about 20% of a banana on a £7+ waffle. Had to sign up with an up, provide email, phone, address to literally just order food? what kind of data protection is that about? Won't be doing that again what a rubbish system no wonder it's empty now used to be decent and very busy nearly all the time but would never go again. Saw many people just walking out over it - and rightly so.

My disappointment isn't about the food. The cleanliness could be better but it's not that. Selection is ample and as expected, that's why we go there and return. It's great for families and indeviduals of all ages at anytime. Disappointed in the management. The food is ordered on an app and may people can order at the same time however the execution and delivery to the table is average or below. Even when not busy the simple and most basic of tasks is forgotten. Items left off and delivered at different times so icecream is melted or no saucer to put tea bag on. Napkins put in the sauce so unable to use. When these are raised the staff are still not concerned and correct without awareness there at fault. Can not even get the order or table number right even when shown on the app. Need to be better at the basic tasks.

I'm very appalled at the once excellent Creams Cafe. You can't just walk in and order some dessert, no, you have to order food for sitting in or take away through an app!!!?! Not only do you have to register for this app, you have to give your name, address and bank details which takes at least 5 mins to fill out and then wait for at least 20 minutes just for some ice cream??? It's ridiculous. I was about to walk out and down the street to Cookies and Cones who are amazing but my husband just convinced me to order. I used to come in here once a month a few years ago but to be honest, never again. You've lost a loyal customer.

I never leave reviews but I was so angry by my experience in creams cafe last night that I thought I should share my experience. I ordered a waffle with strawberries and chocolate sauce which cost something like £6.95 so hardly cheap. I was given a waffle with one strawberry sliced into 5 pieces and laid one slice on each section of the waffle with one slice in the middle. When I asked the waiter for more strawberries he said sorry you will have to order more for an extra 95p and we only put 6 slices per waffle. I always order this dessert so I knew he was lying and and when I questioned him he said at this franchise these were the rules! So I basically got a waffle covered in chocolate sauce with 1 strawberry and a rude waiter. I’ve now just looked at the photos on the website for this dish at this venue and their pancakes are covered in strawberries with white chocolate shaving on the top which I didn’t get either. I’ve also just read some really bad reviews all stating bad food and rude staff. I highly recommend you don’t go here unless you want to be ripped off. I’m so annoyed as all he needed to do was give me one strawberry!

The staff are a bit hit and miss with courtesy and being able to smile. Lady who saw us to the table was very nice, nobody else seemed happy to be there (can't say I blame them)Ordered a nutty banofee that came with no nuts and a chocolate hot mess that was absolutely covered in icing sugar. There was so much of it, I thought a local drug baron had dumped a kilo on my plate!!!At least the tables aren't so sticky anymore

I don't usually do reviews unless its a good one, all for promoting good businesses, however on this occasion I am going to share sadly a bad experience we have just had, having received what was suppose to be a Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough (VG) 'An indulgent blend of hot, chunky and chewy vegan chocolate cookie dough with a rich vegan chocolate sauce, chocolate absolute sorbet and cocoa powder.' I understand its a take away so wouldn't be presented in the same fashion as in the 'cafe'. However I cannot believe they charged almost Nine quid for this at £8.95, We had 2 of these and other items, spending around just over £40 and this is what we got! First time and last time we will ever be using Creams Cafe Southend! If it was a couple of quid then maybe it would just about be acceptable, but to send such meagre portions and poor quality out to customers is hardly likely to ensure return customers, well not here anyway!

Visited with 4 kids ranging from 10-15 yrs for family birthday... large menu choice and friendly staff but venue appeared a little tired. Was also dessert(ed) when we were there...
