Booked a table for 6.15 for 6 people. We order refill soft drinks, went up to get Pepsi max, water came out, so I asked if there was another machine, was advised it would be changed, was then advised there wasn’t anymore. That’s all I drink.I then went up to get dinner, the beef was fatty. The turkey was lovely. The roast potatoes had an odd taste so I didn’t eat them. The veg was ok. The gravy was not labelled. The place was dirty. I won’t be returning

Excellent Carvery all the trimmings lovely food served hot. Quite busy but still excellent service without having to wait at all. Pleasant staff sea views.

I had forgotten Toby's existed due to covid, maybe my memory went when I was sick with it! I am so glad I rediscovered it as the place is brilliant. The quality of the roast is great, service brilliant every time I go, what more could you ask for. I will say going on any day other than Sunday is a lot cheaper though.

All the staff were great. So friendly, smiling and helpful. Unlike any other Toby I've been to. There were 10 of my family members (some vegetarian) and we all had lovely meals and some even managed puddings, we had a great afternoon. Thanks to the Thorpe Bay team.

Great place to eat and the food was wonderful. Took in a baby with us and the staff were so helpful to our needs and happiness. A great experience that if we visit Southend again, we shall be dining there. The king-size plate was very enjoyable and filling.

·

Go for a carvery every two weeks last couple of times been good veg nice & fresh. Staff friendly. Had a few bad meals before that. Veg dried up or not cooked enough but good overall

Honestly the several times I've visited we've had a perfect experience! The food has always been delicious, the service has always been perfect, never had to wait ages for food or drink. Would highly recommend and can't wait for our next visit =]Also, it was the first time we took our 22 month old daughter and I have to say it is the most accommodating place for children I've been to. Lots of options food wise and the high chairs are really good!

·

As usual, food of high quality & staff helpful. Only criticism is Ladies toilets require new bolts on doors as I like Privacy. This problem has needed attention for several weeks! Otherwise I would have awarded 5 stars!

Very busy place but it rose to the occasion. We'd booked so turned up, got seated quickly. Waiter took a drinks order and then a quick queue for carvery. 4 meats on offer and great spread of potatoes, veggies & fab Yorkshire pudding . Will definitely be going back again...
