Holiday Inn in Southend-on-Sea

Very tasty Full English breakfast to help from the night before. Cereals for the kids, plenty of juice options. The bar looks like it would be fun for a drink in the evenings too.

Had a lovely Mother's Day lunch here today. Wonderful food and excellent service. Would definitely recommend.

Probably the most delicious Sunday lunch in town not to mention great value for money and a fabulous view over the airport. It's become our regular Sunday lunch haunt!

Only had breakfast here. Restaurant was kept very clean. Good food and staff were very nice and helpful

Just had the worst experience in hospitality ... never again ... booked for Christmas day's meal in the fifth floor,in restaurant no one to greet you or to acknowledge your arrival ...or even to ask if we are the guests or staying there ... Christmas atmosphere was minimal not even Christmas music however sat at the table we've had what they called a shot tasteless and cold what appeared to be butternut squash in a thimble ..the starter arrived shortly after, three scallops the size of ten pence and bacon Larden again cold and as we've had to order well in advance we couldn't remember what we've ordered as when we did the receptionist could not print a copy for us ... however every table had a little card with the name of the guests and what they've ordered but not ours the waiter brought his own list which it had only our names and nothing of what we've ordered .Come to the main course I've had the lamb which was ok but the portion was small to my liking .. my partner had the fish and again I was told it was warmish and had no taste whatsoever she left most of it, the restaurant was cold most people had their jackets on and again no Christmas atmosphere whatsoever ..we were just glad to have the dessert ( Apple pie ) so we can leave ... for almost £180 it's was a nightmare of a Christmas meal .Never again ... disgusting...I thought we will be eating and drinking and have a great time... how wrong I was

Worst meal of my life. Supposed to be a memorial lunch for my late father, with 36 guests. Table allocations and menu choices had been made in advance. First course took 1.5 hours. Finished second course after 2.5 hours. Whole meal well over three hours. Actual meals didn't match menus, with options not offered and inclusive drinks not provided. Truly terrible

Excellent service, and food to match. If this is the norm for this place its definitely worth visiting
