Great food, great prices. Get a Belgian bun! You won't be disappointed. Really friendly staff. I travel a few miles for the pleasure of a home made bakery lunch.

I needed some decorated cupcakes for my mum's special birthday and the HMB did not disappoint. I was concerned that it might not be a very personal experience and the cakes might look a bit 'factory-made' if I went to a bakery rather than a home baker, but having no luck tracking a baker down due to holidays etc, I got in touch with Karen at Leigh. She came up with a gorgeous individual design in exactly the colours I'd requested and the cakes tasted fantastic. Couldn't be more satisfied and my mum was delighted too.

Sourdough bread is amazing, Chelsea buns light fruity and fluffy!! Sausage rolls the best by far. So Good , will collect an order for Southend Hospital staff again very soon Thankyou Leigh Bakery

Generous sized delicious cakes and pastries Home made of course, great variety and with a drink great value at a realistic price. A short walk down to park overlooking The Thames, plenty of benches.

Lovely bakery. Bread and rolls are superb, as are the cakes, although not so good for the diet.

Popped in to buy a couple of gingerbread men. Liked the look of the fresh cream apple slices whilst I was being served so bought a couple of those too! Delicious... this is much better than the chain ‘bakeries’ and the staff are polite, helpful and good with kids.

Delicious bakery with yummy cakes and bread. Big selection, although card payments for £5+ bills, otherwise you need cash. Much nicer food than the bakers on rectory grove (next street along) and it is always busy. A Sunday opening would be fab, although most places in Leigh are shut on a Sunday.I don't recall being served by particularly grumpy people here as mentioned in other reviews, but did get served by a grumpy person in the other bakery. I guess we are all human and all get grumpy sometimes though.Would recommend a stop here on a Saturday morning!
