Had a very nice experience for a Boxing Day brunch - the staff were all lovely and helpful, and the food was delicious. Lovely.

Great service. Perfect place for brunch along the seafront. One of the best at The Arches.

Absolutely shocking, said to the waiter I wanted kippers and bread and a bottle of water, after 45 minutes of waiting I was served just bread and a bottle of water which came to around £3. Went to go up to the till and pay and the rude manager charged me £9 instead of £3 as she couldn’t be bothered to amend the bill to what I ordered from our table. Will not be returning, would of rathered my chances catching a kipper in the sea, nothing jolly about this place if anything it’s ruined my day.

Typical Southend' s Arches seaside restaurant. Ordered 2 children breakfast, 1 full English and a veggie breakfast. Plenty of food on the plates! Side of mushrooms was sufficient for 2, 3 people. Very good value for money.

Visited 3 times so far with my young son and I've always loved the food, staff and beautiful sea view. Had the delicious veggie breakfast and banana milkshake when I last went. Prices are very reasonable considering how near it is to the open top 68 bus tour stop, Adventure Island rides/ arcades and kids play fountains. Just need to remember to bring cash as cards aren't accepted.

Well, we dropped in for lunch, the 3 of us. Lovely view, bright sunshine so cannot fault the location and view. Service was swift 👍🏻. But, ordered a cappuccino from the menu, assuming it would be a fresh coffee at 2.95 but it was from a sachet. Could not bring myself to drink it. Meals were over priced, jacket potato was tasty but looked like the tuna was poured straight from the tin, and there was no salad or garnish. The white bait was over cooked, but luckily still tasty enough to get through half of it while the lasagne was served piping hot and fortunately was palatable. Will not be returning.

This is a review of a "seaside" cafe not of a Ritz-type restaurant. This is where my in-laws and their friends go to celebrate birthdays. The food is always surprisingly good, especially considering the limited kitchen area they have. It is always hot and the staff cheerful and friendly. The sweets and starters are also good. What more could you want!

Friendly staff and friendly locals! The people and the food here are equally as nice as well as the service being completely spot on. With excellent views of the seafront and the open plan design of the cafe, it is a truly beautiful experience.

The breakfast took over 30 mins to be served. Me and my partner got served 5 minutes apart which meant she had nearly finished by the time mine turned up, the toast took even longer. £2 for 1 slice of toast! the staff were only friendly to the regulars and would barely acknowledge we were there. The smallest sized breakfast i have ever seen. Even a child would still be hungry after eating it. To make the breakfast look bigger they dump virtually a whole can of beans on which floods the entire plate. Bacon was overcooked to the point it was so stiff i could have knocked someone out with it if throw at them. The egg was so oily i knew my bottom would pay for it later, and i was right! The table was still sticky like it hadn't been cleaned, there was left over food on the floor from god knows how long.Unless you like spending £20 on 2 breakfasts and still being starving afterwards i would recommend staying well away.
