Jonaki Tandoori in Southend-on-Sea

Everytime we place an order, we leave it 20 minutes or so after the time it is due, call the restaurant which seems to remind them of our order, they give us an excuse, offer us a discount for the next time and repeat. Unfortunately the food is good which is why we have been back but the service is an absolute disgrace.

*UPDATE*To be clear the food is amazingly good. The service however is appalling. 2hrs for food tonight. That's a joke. What is it with local businesses that they think they can rock up when it suits? If you're busy just say so it's not hard. Don't say an hour when it's clearly two. Whoever the girl you have shouting down the phone does you no favours at all. The food may be good but it's not worth the wait or the agg. Such a shame as I love the food.

Just started using this place a few weeks ago, I'm well impressed. I get my old mum a chicken tikka masala and I have a chicken tikka curry. It's bloody lovely 😊

Ordered early 5.34pm as we don't like to eat late. Delivery due 6.15pm to 6 45pm At 7pm still no food. Called restaurant said waiting for driver be there in 10mins. At 7.40 pm still no food Called again driver will be with you any minute8.10 food arrives tepid all spilt on everything absolutely horrendous. We have been using this takeaway for years but will NEVER use again appalling service and the food was terrible

One of the best I've had, so much so, that I could eat it again.

This is out local Indian take away, food is great and always hot. Meat is always marinaded. Delivery time is a little longer then others taking over an hour, so order with plenty of time and it is worth the wait.

We have been using this takeaway for 10 yrs now, lovely food, Update : had takeaway last week, may 2021... OMG.. what a lovely meal, tasted absolutely fantastic, maybe new chef i’m not sure but everything was spot on yummy :) came within 30-45 mins ( friday night ) cant wait to have another take out :)

The food is always truly epic! Delivered early and seriously packs a flavour punch, I've decided I'm using their jalfrazi as a weight loss programme, I forget that everything is spicier and can no longer feel my mouth, however, I did honestly enjoy it and will continue to order over and over again 👌

We have used the Jonaki for at least 25 years. It was always excellent food and delivery, not any more. About a month ago our ordered took 2 hours to deliver it and the food was not good. We thought that it was a one off, so we used it yesterday. We ordered our good at 6.00 and asked it for 7.00. It was delivered at 7.45. The food used to be 5 stars, yesterday was 2 stars. It's a shame but, we won't use them anymore. (Sorry for the strange grammar, I than a stroke)
