Masoom in Southend-on-Sea

Love this restaurant. Best Indian restaurant. The food is of a top quality and very good service. Only critism the staff can look a bit serious at times.

This is our favourite sit down "curry" restaurant in Southend but too far away for a take-away delivery.The atmosphere is always warm and friendly and bookings are essential for weekends as they get busy.The food is always good and my wife who "doesn't like spicy food" can always find something she likes.My favourite is Shami Kebab followed by Chicken Tikka Dhansak with mushroom pilau and Garlic Naan washed down with a large Cobra or Kingfisher Beer.

The food here is good and although I realise it's Thorpe Bay, that is no need for their high prices, which I think are 15-20% over the top.

Shared a great tasty meal with family. Very attentive service, a lovely evening.

Just had a lovely curry with family prior to settling down and watching England win the Euros (hopefully)! Food was amazing, service impeccable, all the staff were so attentive and patient with the kids on their own table, and I even got to keep the lovely glass pot which my dessert came in! Must admit, never had a dessert post curry before, was delicious! Thanks all at the Masoom for a great evening!

I'm writing this because my daughter didn't want to cause any issues.She said that the food was very nice but the service was appalling!...the waiter was rude, unknowledgable about the menu and didn't even know what Bombay potatoes were.....I have to say, on a personal level, I've been to this restaurant and have had a similar experience....if the service was as good as the food I'd be giving 5 stars!...disappointing!

Excellent customer service, specially the person Onik who was such a gentlemen and took care of us the whole evening.Food was amazing better than what I expected.My husband normally is very picky about restaurant but yesterday I was very shocked that my husband has no complaints and he left with a very big corona elbow shake .Shajna

Come along if you fancy experiencing the least tentative service you could imagine.All the waiters treat you as if you’re asking them to sign over the deed to their house, it’s extremely uncomfortable.The waiters have zero interest in serving you and flat out ignore you when asking for extra drinks etc.When we were served our food the waiter rudely went round the table, almost shouting, demanding to know what we had, when one of our party didn’t answer quick enough he demanded answers from someone else.This is some of the rudest service I’ve ever experienced and I shall never visit again.Utterly ridiculous!
