Mitalee in Southend-on-Sea

We normally order from here and the food has always been great. But this time the food was lacking, quite literally lacking a dish. When we called up to say it was missing they said they were going to replace it quickly. We waited For over half an hour that we were forced to eat without one of our family members as our food was getting cold. The food was not up to the high standard that we’re used to. What a shame.

Don't use the Mitalee website to order from them. I did, paid for food, food didn't arrive, went and spoke to them about it. They said the website has been disabled, and I'd have to resolve through PayPal - even though I was able to order and pay for food via their website

Best Indian takeaway we've had for a long time, will be ordering again!

Tried the Mitalee for the first time today. we were regulars at another Westcliff Indian restaurant but stopped using it as the food seemed to have more oil than food i used to have to mop it up with a kitchen roll. So we have been looking for months for a decent alternative. So tonight i tried the Mitalee.I had a chicken Tikka Dhansak and it was beautiful never had an Indian meal with less oil in it, good size portions of meat. my Naan bread was fresh and still fluffy unusual for a takeaway. Can't wait to return.

Before 2 week I tried food but that was my 1st and last time on this resturrent.thry took too much time to serve and food was rubbish.suger in curry ?unbelievable.and when I asked I ordered spicy curry then he added just red chilli powder in same curry. Disgusting

Restaurant is a joke for takeaway ordered meal they said 40 mins then it didn't turn up so rang they said driver on his way still an hour later no food so if your hungry don't order from here!

food was great. even though I can never eat all off it. went with my partner. and my 3 daughters. they all enjoyed it. the staff are very good with my eldest daughter. she is disabled. but they treat her well. other places we have been to. tend to ignore her. and treat here as an annoyance. which pisses us of. but not at this restaurant. 5 stars from us

Ordered at 1755. Delivery turned up 2 hours later (1955). Food cold. Butter chicken a watery mess. What's happened to the mitalee? We regularly ate at the restaurant and had takeaways and couldn't rate it highly enough. Standards seem to have taken a nosedive both in the quality of food and customer service. Disappointed

Lovely atmosphere. Old school Indian restaurant. Portion sizes quite large. Food and service excellent. Staff very friendly. What stood out was the portion sizes. Lovely kulfi desert. Definitely going again.

Delectable Indian cuisine, spacious eating area with well groomed and welcoming staff. Reasonable pricing, definitely worth a visit.
