Mr Ping Restaurant in Southend-on-Sea

Always came to Mr Ping, practically weekly, before we moved, then we moved, however had the pleasure of going again this week and it was fantastic as always,!

Service was amazing. Checked on us really often took a good care of us. AMAZING VEGETARIAN OPTIONS. Me, as a vegetarian, i never saw that many options in any place. Food was more than amazing. Option eat as you can i really good as portions are not so big so you can try more dishes. Sadly, my stomach is not that big that i can try everything so definitely will go back. Everything was gorgeous and the price.. I couldn’t imagine getting better food for such a small price. 100% recommend this place!!!

Lovely Chinese restaurant and a huge vegetarian and vegan menu as well. Never disappoints.

The only Chinese buffet (brought to the table not help yourself) that caters for veggies/vegans with a separate menu. It could do with a decor update but the food is amazing. Staff are friendly even with little miss picky (7 year old). It's the only Chinese restaurant where we've managed to convince her to try other things, rather than just rice and prawn crackers.

The service received was generally very, very good indeed. It was hot, very tasty and personally my dishes that I ate were excellent.However the after service and one totally glaring error was not good. One of my family ordered the vegetarian hot and sour soup as they are veggie. However when he opened it there was chicken and prawns in the soup. This was a major faux pas as if the person was allergic to shellfish or for religious considerations this would have been totally unacceptable. I would not like to have been the restaurant if that would have been the case. However the person it affected stirred his soup and spotted the meat before he ate it.This lead to the secondary issue. The restaurant was called and they said they would check. After checking it was found that there was another order at the same time and that order contained the meaty hot and sour and they mixed them up. Poor work there guys, even if it is a genuine accident. The solution was to get the driver to apologise and they sent a replacement soup.If that were my business I would have given the total order for free or suggested that on another occasion a good discount would be applicable. But no.Also after spending. £40 there is still a £3 delivery charge, why?Well that is our experience of the place, but for me the lack of aftercare service and the £3 delivery for spending so much tells me the restaurant does not really take its customers seriously. So farewell as plenty more take-outs by the sea.

Sorry to say but Mr Ping has gone down hill. My son and I had a Chinese yesterday and it wasn't as good as usual, We'll give it a miss for a while. Shame coz it used to be lovely.

Can't believe this place scored 0 out of 5 on the Food Standards register. The food tastes great but I feel rather ill after eating from here for so long.

The surroundings are pleasant enough. The service is efficient. The food is delicious and good value for money. When the dishes first came out, I did not think that there would be enough to satisfy our 9 strong party. However, nobody wanted or needed any more. The prosecco was particularly good to wash the food down with. I will be returning.

Waited ages for delivery ,to find items missing. Called restaurant who were quick to blame the just eat driver, after waiting another 15 minutes for the rest of the meal. I called and asked for a refund as we had finished our luke warm meal, told to go back to just eat.Had to ask for an apology to which I was eventually given along with a very poor attitude from female.
