Piccolo Italian Restaurant in Southend-on-Sea

WOW. WOOOOW.It's been almost a week since I came, and it's not been a day since I've thought about this place.I've no idea what was better, the food or the guys serving and cooking it?! I don't think I've had Italian half as good at this before. When they said they do garlic bread, they do GARLIC mother******* bread. Immense stuff with cheese!!! Get it!!I had to stay basic and go with the Carbonara so as to compare it to others I've had. The best! Full of flavour, not too dry and or wet, well mate and there's plenty of it! Well done.As for the staff, they're as nice as the art they're painting (food they're serving)A load of genuinely lovely lads, who are up for a laugh and make lovely hosts. Filling up wine when there's signs of it going low in your glass, telling us stories (which is always funnier in a thick Italian accent!) about stories from home, and genuinely being incredible hosts.I will be back with numerous different sets of people, I'm a half hour journey with no traffic (A127 though aye) and I want to be here at least once a month; hopefully more!If ever I was to give a true 5/5, it would be this place. Consider all my other reviews 4 stars 😂

My family and I have been coming here for years. The genuine personalities and family friendly atmosphere is constant. Piccolo is a very authentic, busy Italian restaurant that transports you to a bustling piazza. The staff are always friendly, easy and accommodating. It's easy to see why it's always busy here...

Best Italian restaurant we've even been to. Atmosphere is always amazing, food is same high quality every time we visit. We travel from London just to have dinner there quite few times a year. Highly recommended.

Great food, great service. Reasonable priced too. But! Be aware the service charge of 10% is automatically included in your bill. Should have been made clearer in my opinion. Don't tip twice, unless you want to 🙂

Great food, happy enthusiastic staff, really make you feel welcome. Nice location overlooking the estuary and a stone's throw away from Cliff's Pavilion, so an ideal place to grab something tasty to eat before or after a show. Daily specials board if the main menu doesn't grab you, plus a set early bird menu.

This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurantsthat I've ever been in.The food is to die for, food is freshly prepared. The staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome. It's good value for money. If your ever in Southend why not give piccoloa try.

A great Italian restaurant . Good quality food friendly staff and great prices. We were in Southend a couple of days and this helped make our experience enjoyable. Only downside is they are so busy seating can be a squeeze. Highly recommended

Lovely Italian restaurant on the seafront in Southend. Great food and fantastic views. Staff were lovely and went well out of their way to make my birthday celebrations memorable

A great restaurant with an inviting and genuine atmosphere. My girlfriend and I visited recently and were happy as always. We were able to move our booking on the day and arrived to a nice evening. Our food was lovely and arrived to us in a timely manner. The food is slightly on the dear side for my student budget but I left feeling happy with the expense. Also we had quite little space around us but honestly it was a nice experience. Service was a charm and the desert was absolutely fantastic.Overall, a great place to eat, especially on a date.

Without any questions one of the most welcoming Happy run restaurant around and the food most importantly is unreal perfect for families👌🏼
