Pieno-Lleno in Southend-on-Sea

Service was great. The restaurant was clean and really nicely decorated. The food was ok to good. We had two sharing boards between 4 of us. The main sharer felt like a bit of a weird mishmash, it was ok but not great, less Mexican flavours than expected. The lamb chops had a really strange flavour that 3 of the group didn’t like at all. The starters board was better. I would go back, but I’d order differently next time.

Great food, service and decor. Feels authentic (as it can feel)! We had chorizo and halloumi and jalapeño poppers to start followed by bbq pulled pork fajitas and an enchilada for mains. All delicious!

Large portions and the best Mexican food we have had in England. A very short walk from the beach.

Undoubtedly the best food we've had in our 3 years in England! I cannot rave enough about this place. We were served by the nicest people, the food was excellent, the drinks were perfect and the setting was vibrant and engaging. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building, we nearly missed this absolute gem!!We found this on a short weekend break to Southend-on-Sea, skip the rubbish on the waterfront and take a small walk 2 streets back, it's worth a 100 streets back.

Had a perfect lunch here today. We had the calamari to start and mozzarella sticks, followed by the prawn burrito bowl and cilantro chicken. We then had churros and Dulce de leche churros. All amazingly hot and delicious. Really friendly service. We have had this take out as well and was just as good!

Great place, it's a little hidden gem in Southend. The decor is really cool, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is really nice. Great for couples or with a group to celebrate something or a gathering. Give it a try. 👌

Absolutely superb!!! Got 25% off and had a meat platter for two with 4 sides. Basically meant we had a free bottle of decent red and couple beers for nothing on gourmet card. THE FOOD WAS very good from a local chef!

Pieno Lleno was recommended to my friend, and we were looking for somewhere new to go as we are based in Thurrock.Definitely worth the journey on the train, lovely little place. It was described to us as a hidden gem and i would say that's a good description. It's about 5 minutes in a taxi but we decided to walk from Southend Central Station, which took about 15 minutes.Its a cosy, comfortable restaurant, full Mexican vibe with day of the dead murals over the walls. Loved the decor, bright, vibrant and memorable. Each member of staff we saw was lovely, from being greeted, to seated, to served and leaving. And obviously can't forget the food! Nachos sharer was so good! And I then ate the best quesadilla I've ever had. We were so full, but managed to get some churros to take away!Lots of delicious food, plenty of cocktails, beers and wines to choose from. Can't wait to go back and try something else. Highly recommend.

Food was amazing and the staff were lovely. The decor matches the Mexican menu perfectly, with a collection of wall art and cute sombreros everywhere. Loads of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, plus non alcoholic beers and mocktails, so every dietary requirement is catered for. Highly recommended.
