Shabash in Southend-on-Sea

Shabash Shabash! A celebration of great food…We went back to Shabash after a long lockdown of not eating out, and WOW how I had forgotten how excellent the food and experience is here at Shabash in Leigh on Sea. They have made some nice additions to the menu and decor too, so much so and I have fallen in love with indian food again.Highly recommended to any indian food lover!

Real disappointment, bland, under seasoned, overly sweet. Dry chicken, soft veg pakoras, veg curry is a joke, list goes on. Just really bad unauthentic Indian food.

Ordered from here via Uber Eats, for delivery.Order was delivered 30 mins late, so overall took 2 hours to prepare / deliver a small order, notification from the restaurant that it was going to be late would have been nice, and perhaps a “sorry for the delay” from the delivery driver.Food was very bland, I’ve never had a pasanda with so little flavour, the overwhelming taste was yoghurt and you would have barely known there was any type of flavouring to it. The lamb tikka was very tough and lots of gristle, chicken had a strange texture.Cauliflower bhaji was completely tasteless. It also wasn’t a bhaji - it was basically very over cooked cauliflower in a slight tomato / onion based sauce. There was no hint of flavour to it at all.I don’t know if this order was cooked in a hurry as it was late, I’ve eaten in the restaurant a few years back and it was really good, but based on tonight’s delivery I won’t be eating here again, either take-out or restaurant.

We ate hear in New year's Eve after booking at short notice. Meal was lovely. Service was good too. Really liked the Sag Paneer I ordered as it came dry which made a nice change. Would come back to eat here again.

The food is amazing. I was very happy with our selection. What the restaurant lacks is good service. The staff were not at all attentive. We were not offered deserts and when I asked for the bill he disappeared and didn't come back. So I had to ask again.

Disappointed with taste and flavor.. Not authentic..mix veg was a disaster. Given 2 stars as they delivered on time.

I have to say the scoolops on puri gave this restaurant the 5 stars for me, it was a fantastic dish. Service was very good., menu a little bit limited. Value good. Would go back for the same dish anytime

So I’ve been here many times and the food is great BUT….The waiting time is excruciating!A group of us went and only ordered drinks and mains and from the drinks coming to the table and the mains being served we waited for over an hour and a half and had to ask multiple times where the food was!I won’t be rushing back unfortunately which is a shame as the food is very nice when it finally arrives.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday evening. Offered popadoms and drinks when we arrived. Then waited half an hour to get our order taken, then the food took another 90 minutes to be served. Very poor service. The biggest problem I had was that they kept lying to us ever time we asked where our food was. “It’s cooking now or the chef is just checking our order is correct “. Rubbish. They had a problem in the kitchen ( which I over heard on the way to the loo) and didn’t want to tell anyone. Will not be going back.

Thank you.. For a lovely tasty meal.. We have been looking for a new Indian as I think wheelers Indian have changed there chef and I was fed up with incomplete and wrong orders. And batleing trying to get are 20% discount on picking up are order.Any way anoth of them.. This is the first time we tryed the shabash so we kept the order simple. But wow well impressed. The ceylon lamb so tasty and with a nice kick. The lamb madras had loads of flavour bombay potatoes mmmmmm. So all in all a good first experience... Served in a nice bag delivery was as the lady said no hidden extra charges very impressed.. Would totally recommend...Next order will be more in depth. As we explore there menue.Nice to find a genuine Indian.Thank you again for a lovely meal....
