Shish Restaurant in Southend-on-Sea

Update 28Dec2021-15Jan2022. No answer on phones for 2 weeks now and place appears shut. Can the owner confirm if they are still trading or if they are temporarily closed? Still up to scratch and has been our go-to kebab/grill provider ever since.We've had food from Shish three times in as many weeks. It's been exceptional. Staff very friendly and place clean and organised. We traditionally used (for 8 years) the Broadway Grill in Leigh on sea, however due to recent experiences of the chicken being dry and overcooked, ventured a bit further afield. We will continue to use Shish for our kebab requirements going forward. Keep up the good work guys!

Only place for me that does really good falafel with huge portions that taste amazing! Would definitely recommend! Staff and owner are really friendly as well!

For my 1st time eating here, I was completely impressed by the quality of service & food. Excellent manners from all members of staff in the restaurant, food quality is also great & fresh. Loved it!

Really lovely food & great service! Hadn’t been here before, but we will definitely be back.I really recommend the mixed grill - really tender meat - especially the lamb Shish & nice fresh, crunchy salad.They were happy to accommodate & give me extra salad, as I didn’t want rice, so was a healthy & tasty, keto-friendly meal.Plenty of food, so we took the leftovers home in doggy bags!

Really loved coming here. We visited around 10pm after getting turned away from 2 other places and the staff were so nice and welcoming. They were fantastic about customising a vegetarian meal for me and the service was excellent! Thank you!

Truly awful. Tasteless and very tough lamb, bland rice, pathetic salad and dry bread. No effort at all made to please. The Chili sauce was lacking chili. They are trying to copy Showarma as served in Holland, but failing miserably. If they did authentic Showarma I would order every time. Until then I will go to Kebab Express or a Greek Restaurant for Souvlaki. Awful food! I mean really awful....I threw it in the bin.

Awful....fatty chewy meats, cold food, tough bread, bland rice. Haloumi undercooked chewy horrible. Salad that was about the worst you could get, worse hummus than you get in costcutter.

We always enjoy coming here, the food is so delicious and a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.

I've returned several times and nothing bad to say. Probably need to sample a few more of the items on the menu as selection seems pretty good, but the chicken shawarma has got me a bit one-dimensional. I also haven't sat down to eat inside the restaurant, but it all looks very clean and there's plenty of seating available. Reliably good all round and recommended.

We had our football club Xmas meal at this restaurant. The service was very good...the timings were fine and the food was excellent. Not over expensive and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The belly dancers were great entertainment too!
