The Alex in Southend-on-Sea

Stumbled across this place on the walk back to our hotel and so glad we did. The food and atmosphere was great and very good prices! The football was on multiple screens and the place was clean. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Well worth a detour from the seafront, to avoid the crowded tourist spots. The (all day) breakfast pictured was £6.25 and a glass of coke was £2.56 (July 2022). Food arrived around 10 mins after ordering, staff were polite and the toilets were clean. Can't really ask for anything else.

Always the best place to come to in town for food, beer and great people. Staff always have a smile and happy to have you here. Great for watching sports and catching up with your pals.

We went to The Alex for bottomless brunch and I couldn't fault it. The staff really looked after us and we was never without a drink. The food was simple yet very tasty. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back. Such a bargain for your money!! ❤️

Hats off to this gem of a place! They accommodated us group of 12 at relatively short notice. The food was great along with the atmosphere. It topped our weekend off massively. It was busy at the time being the bank holiday weekend and the football on but the staff done a grand job. Thanks to all at "The Alex"

Great pub, live music and pub quiz nights, gorgeous food, young crowd. All-round recommended!

Recently experienced the Bottomless Brunch and came away extremely satisfied! We had a table of 9 and there wasn't a moment any of our glasses were empty. Staff were attentive and very well prepared with our next orders. Drank and ate to my absolute fullest and will certainly be booking another experience there soon!

Large group of us went to the Alex to try the bottomless brunch on Saturday. We all really enjoyed it and the owner who was serving us done a great job. The drinks kept coming and was overall a really great service. Definitely up for coming back again for it 👍🏻

We had a bottlemess brunch and was served by Steven, food and drinks were amazing. Steven was very attentive and very professional showing great customer service and made sure our glasses were never empty... The definition of bottomless brunch! Definitely coming here again 👌👍
