This historic listed timber-framed structure dates from circa 1650 and was formerly the Shoebury Post Office and Blacksmiths Shop along with the adjoining thatched Wheelwrights. Flagstone floors and wooden oak beams create a traditional English feel and friendly ambience. Cosy up next to the roaring fire in winter or make the most of the outside seating area, which is perfect for a refreshing tipple in summer. This is a traditional pub that delivers all year round, with great food and no loud music or televisions blaring."

Yes it was lovely. We had lunch I had a jacked potato. My daughter had prawn sandwich ample on the plate it was really.. nice lunch

Four of us (family) had Sunday lunch at The Angel Inn. - Cosy, oldy-worldy pub. Warm, friendly and efficient staff. Excellent food. Looking forward to visiting again 😀

What a lovely pub. The staff are warm welcoming and so helpful. We have just stopped for an impromptu drink and were lucky to get a table. We then decided to order food. It was the best roast dinner ever and my husband had fish and chips which was also delicious. 5 stars all round xxx

Typical local pub facing a busy roundabout on the A127 between Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness...nor really the calmest environment, especially if (weather permitting), you're sitting outside. Nothing extraordinary, not a country pub, not a gastro-pub, not a trendy pub, not a micro-pub... Just a nice local pub with its daily local customers. Sometimes difficult to get a table and very tiny counter too. Selection of food ok.

A fair walk from the railway station but definitely worth it. Service, real ale, food all very good. Had a couple of 1/2's plus some excellent whitebait. In my opinion best pub in Shoeburyness. Thank you to the staff and owners !

Nice atmosphere, lovely, tasty food, would have been 5*, but grapes weren't very fresh on our cheesboard..overall, had a good meal with friends at a reasonable price

3rd visit and again excellent. Cannot fault the great service, fabulous menu and value for money. Lovely country pub feel and the food is simply delicious. Have to say all in all best pub we have been to locally and looking forward to many more visits.
