Visited this pub and had lunch. There are tables outside in a paved area across a narrow road just outside the pub. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Overlooks the Thames Estuary. Waiting staff were very attentive and we were served our drinks really quickly even though the outside seating was very busy. You can order at your table by scanning a QR code, which brings up the menu or order directly from the waiting staff. Good selection of starters and main courses, and sharing platters. We both chose fish and chips (haddock). Food arrived quickly served on proper plates and drinks in proper glasses. Fish was delicious, skinless, crispy seasoned beer batter, triple cooked chips which were perfectly cooked, Mushy peas and a proper tartare sauce. One small gripe, and it’s really only because it’s a pet hate of mine, is that mayonnaise, ketchup etc comes in sachets, but it’s irrelevant really. Didn’t see the inside of the pub except to use the toilet facilities. This is the kind of pub where you can spend a long time eating, drinking and gazing at the great view. Another plus is that there is a great seafood bar next door and you can eat your seafood at the pub tables if you purchase drinks. We loved it and will definitely be back again and again 🙂

Great pub in Leigh on Sea. Only had drinks but food menu looked really good. Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Recommended

We took two guests to a favourite pub in the old town.. starters were greasy but OK. Mains were appalling. Sent mine back and cancelled immediately. Guest asked to speak to manager when everyone decided they couldn't eat it.....mains were taken off bill. Was not able to leave zero star rating otherwise would have. Sorry Nicholsons, we were left embarrassed that we had taken friends there zero out of ten for food

Lovely sitting outside in the sunshine with a delicious seafood platter and a glass of wine and table service so you don't need to que up. We got lucky with a table so would recommend booking.

We stopped for lunch and got a table without a reservation. We ordered duck pie and steak pie. Both dishes tasted very good, especially duck pie - great taste.

The last unspoilt classic pub in Old Leigh, Serves great Ales, plus the usual alcoholic drinks, also has a good food menu, no parking, does get very busy at weekends and when the weather is fine. Recommended 👍🍺🍽☕ best to book a table 😉

We had lunch at this pub and I must say it was very good. Came as a bit of a surprise as the food was better then some of the more expensive places around the area. Great location and the service was very inviting and friendly. Small inside but very cosy. Definitely worth visiting but just make sure you book as it does get busy.

The plus points - nice location to sit and people watch, staff lovely and service was quick. Downside was food was not great quality and, in my opinion, very overpriced, over £50 for 2 burgers, a pint of lager, a coffee and a bowl of nachos. Burgers were average quality, the veggie burger very bland, with cheese like rubber. I get you pay for the location but even taking that into account, still v.expensive for what we had. Seafood platters looked good but sorry to say, we wont be back.

Good services. Tasty fish and chips. CAREFUL in a busy day around 6.00pm they run out fish stock !!! For a respectable Pub on a sea front to not have fish 🤔😂 Soo no all days at this pub are nice 😉
