Stayed for one night. Was supposed to be a double deluxe room with king bed, when I arrived I was told they weren't expecting me as the manager hadn't been checking the online bookings. The manager and person helping me exchanged cross words. I was assigned a room and then with out explanation, taken out of the hotel and up a small hill to a house in which they had rooms. When the staff had left I established that the bed was not a king bed, and in fact was likely a small double. The TV had something hanging off of it and didn't work, and I discovered late in the evening thar the shower did not work. As it was late, there were no phones in the room and I was up the street from the hotel, I didn't feel comfortable letting them know and also suspected nothing could/ would be done. Disappointing

A seafront pub in a great location with plenty of seats and tables outside when sunny .it could do with having some decent ales though

I would urge people to ignore the few negative reviews. I stayed there for three nights last weekend. Yes some may say some rooms may be 'tired 'but the whole place is really clean throughout. It has real character and right on the beach road. George the owner and all the staff team are really friendly and helpful. They do a really good breakfast. Far better than some of the plastic expensive chain hotels. A great seaside traditional pub hotel. Pat McDonagh.

Well run hotel, friendly staff , great breakfast, nice clean room. Slap bang in the middle of the seafront. Friendly bar staff. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to everyone for making myself and the grandsons stay a very happy experience 😁😁😁

A very well run hotel with a hostess who enjoyed looking after all the guests and was very helpful. Good hearty breakfasts freshly cooked were good. Rooms all with lovely sea view nicely decorated and good beds. Good value and with a very good location would recommend this hotel for all ages. Thanks to all at the Hope hotel for a nice break from Scotland

Was expecting to stay at the hotel itself but was took to a guest house which although was quieter (as it wasn't in the seafront itself) it reminded me of staying in uni accommodation. TV didn't work very well, pretty stuffy in the room, the en-suite was pretty grim and the double bed was broken which made for a uncomfortable night and stiff morning for both of us.Good things to mention is that we were given a fan for our room, the staff member that signed us in was lovely and that although we were in the guest house the seafront and car park were only a few minutes away from each other.Wouldn't recommend staying here for the price that is charged.
