It's a nice setting but the beer is so overpriced. I paid £3.20 for a half of one of their 4% draft ales .no wonder is was not busy !

Right. If you've come from London (as I have) and you're lost in Essex for where to go; then this is the pub for you. The vibe is great. The staff are amazing. The food absolutely hits the spot. No other pub compares to this-not in Old Leigh, Leigh or anywhere else in the east. Get yourself here and rekindle what you miss from a 'London pub'. 10/10.

We came to the news for a family party and had a thoroughly good time in nice surroundings. I'm a fan of the shabby chic style and felt instantly at home. The food was delicious and came to the table piping hot. There were a couple of problems causing discomfort to our party, however. We were booked to arrive at seven and the starters didn't arrive until well after eight, there weren’t enough seats at our (admittedly very large) table, and the young staff often appeared nonplussed and ill prepared for such a busy evening. We had chosen from the menu in advance but at one point there was a fuss about who had which mashed potato. If the staff had made it clear that there was more than one type, this distraction could have been avoided. I also don't know that there needed to be background music when the noise in the room was so very loud. This seems like nitpicking to me, but the comfort of patrons would be greatly improved if these issues were addressed.I would definitely go back to the Mews for the superb food.....but perhaps on a quieter night.

Stylish, chilled bar with unique decor. Very welcoming of us with our baby daughter for a quiet drink on a Saturday afternoon. Limited beer selection but I think they specialise in cocktails so fair enough! Will definitely visit again.

Visited for my wife's birthday, the staff really went the extra mile and put a smile on her face. Thank you so much for a great evening. :)

The food was lovely, however service was poor. We had to wait over two hours for our main, they were one short on the starter and the extra veg never materialized. They offered free deserts instead but when the bill came in had charged us anyway. They amended without a fuss but just a shame as marred the occasion.

Sunday late afternoon - looked a bit empty downstairs, asked on the off chance of a table for 4. They checked with the kitchen and within 10 minutes had us a table upstairs. It was full upstairs, nice buzzy atmosphere. lots of happy faces chatting and eating. A couple of well behaved kids, getting on well with the friendly staff.Had a Thai and 3 roasts (2 duck and beef), absolutely great, full of flavour. Plenty of side vegetables, roast and roasted new potatoes were excellent.Go for the food, the value, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff.

Lovely place, really liked the interior design. The service was very accommodating, allowed us to eat downstairs because we came with a dog, even brought a water bowl for her.Food was delicious, had the Moroccan couscous with veg, and the fish and chips, plus got the cauliflower with melted cheese on the house which was great too!Overall no complaints, thank you!

Very pleasant Sunday roast with good vegetarian and vegan options. Tomato soup was absolutely exceptional and desserts very tasty. It’s a cosy place for a candlelight dinner. Highly recommended!

Service was a little slow making drinks but they were tasty! Beautiful venue, polite and freindly staff. A little on the pricey side but nothing horrendous! Nice for a drink after work!
