The Sunflower Eaterie in Southend-on-Sea

It's a quiet and relaxing restaurant, more towards the elderly consumers but still open to everyone. The menu is simple but nice to have a bite to eat locally. The atmosphere is warm and the decor is joyful. The food is subtle. But I love the Biscoff cake which can be served with ice cream, cream or custard, of course hot or cold. The young lady that served me and my partner was very pleasant and sweet. A good place to go if you want a relaxed meal.

Good, fresh hot food. Service was quite slow, and had a fairly long wait for the food, despite not being very busy. Ended up with roast lamb instead of beef but ate it as was hungry. Was very nice so not a problem. Also, had to ask a couple of times for forgotten water. However, Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are similar to pubs. Desserts were very good. A little more attention to customers/orders, and less waiting, would have rated the place higher
