Ye Olde Chippy in Southend-on-Sea

One of the best fish and chips place to eat. Was shocked that they kept saying sorry for our orders being late. Even though it came out 5 mins later .Was impressed with the service and they gave complimentary drinks and donnuts. Will recommend if you want fresh and brilliant service

I just visited this chip shop with my daughters to get some food. We stood on the queue and were completely ignored. There was no one in front of us waiting to place an order and there were multiple people available to serve us. This is heartbreaking as a black person, I try my hardest to ignore racism and this is hard explaining to my kids why we were ignored completely. Instead the staff through around side comments while snickering. I will never visit this shop again as this is too bad for a first impression.

Cracking fish and chips. Lovely haddock, cod and the chips were finished well. The service was excellent, very attentive and fast, even on a busy Easter weekend. Recommended.

Just tried the fish not chips . Looks nice smells nice tasted good. But your right by the sea I expected a better piece of cod. Ps i asked for a large freshly cooked cod the guy told me he giving me two medium that he said where freshly made. I said id rather have a large and freshly cooked. He wasn’t having it😂🤦🏼‍♂️ generous 4

Great chip shop!There are many along the sea front and we opted for this one. We were not disappointed.Quick service, freshly made and we had the option to sit in the take away seating area which was good as it turned a bit cold.The food was good! Chippy tea tends to be greasy but this was the opposite which I was pleased about.Definitely recommend this place.

Went there today for lunch time chips on a day visit to Southend. The old chippy having shut down. Chips were perfect. Also had a cup of tea which was nice and strong. Perfect lunch.

Ye Olde Chippy is back again, reopened 4 months ago. Rock salmon was lovely, chips too. Burger was tasty. Excellent service! Thanks for an excellent meal, all for around £10 per head!
