Ye Olde Smack in Southend-on-Sea

Sun was shining & was sitting out the back beer in hand looking over the river watching the tide roll In. Perfect way to spend a day. No problem getting served drinks. Will be returning to try the food.

Very full because the weather is nice. The food was taking around 1 hour. The fish was nice, portion size good. The menu said served with garden peas. All 3 who ordered fish didn't get any. One of the 2 kids meal had rice instead of chips.

Thank you to the lovely Geraldine for my gorgeous Fish and Chip lunch last week. It was so yummy I’d swear you went out and caught it yourself! Dover sole has got nothing on you! Another lovely service from my favourite Leigh pub.

Nice views. Nice food and a good selection of Gin. Thanks 😊 The only down fall on my return visit is the app. We ordered from the app and half an hour later no order arrived. I had to go to the bar and ask where the order was. They advertise the app but they don't always get the orders so a little pointless. It's not just this branch, its happened in a few branches. Just go to the bar its far quicker.

Food was cold, it was changed and that was cold too.Side order of onion rings was £3, reasonable I hear you say, there were 3. Not bad for £1 each.Challenged the staff and their answer was, we don’t set the prices, just serve the food 🤬

Perfect little pub by the sea, friendly staff, tasty food and a welcoming ambience. Excellent for woofas too. Definitely recommend Tku ladies at the bar , excellent service..see you again soon.

great pub feel, staff were great, food was a no no. ordered 6 lasagne meals and had return them and have something else as came out black and solid like bricks. shame as was so looking forward to them due to bar man saying best about.

So this Sunday I was meeting up with a friend and while walking around Leigh On Sea, we decided that it would be good to fuel up. Decided to visit most visible choice that was on the way. The prices were ok, choices enough to wonder. As per quantiry of customers one can see its good place and dog friendly. We had a nice meal and felt cosy. Its clean and staff looked after us well. Thank you, might visit again, unless just want to experiment with other places ;)
