Beefeater Grill in St Albans

We visited while staying at premier inn next door. Food was very good and came reasonably quickly. Service was a little slow especially drinks however they did seen to be a little short of staff on our visit. Overall, very good and would come again.

Stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn and decided to book the meal deal. Such a tranquil setting and quirky building, felt like we were dining on a pirate ship. Staff and service was outstanding and the food was pretty good, the calamari starter was 😋. On-site play park was a bonus for our 8 year old. My daughter was celebrating her birthday and the staff went out their way to make it special for her. So glad we decide to have an evening meal here, a great evening out. The staff did an amazing job. Thank you.

From the outside and indeed on the inside, a really nice peaceful venue, even within the shadow of the M25 it remains a calm and pleasant place. However looks don't get you fed. And nor does this place. Disorganised and disjointed spring to mind. As does hungry. Have been staying at the hotel next door for 3 weeks now, but no longer.Be prepared for long waits for a table even though you have booked, then a wait for your drink order then more waiting for it to arrive then even more waiting for your food order to be taken, that is if they remember you are actually there and come and take your order.If you are lucky (or unlucky depending on your point of view) for your food to actually arrive before you loose the will and depart on the hunt for a McDonald's, expect not what you ordered but rather the Chefs interpretation of it.....Absolutely unbelievable Jeff.2/10. Must try harder.

Just had a nice vegetarian breakfast with toast and coffee.Matthew the waiter is fantastic and his customer service is excellent. Very professional and friendly.Very busy today.Lovely location.My friend also enjoy her breakfast too.Thank you to the staff and chefs. 😀👍

Lovely restaurant in a really nice setting. Superb food. Staff were brilliant considering they were so busy. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended. Well worth going.

This restaurant was an unexpected surprise! We decided to eat out last minute and our usual favourite was fully booked, so a quick search and we found this place. The restaurant has a working water mill inside, which gives it an extra quirkiness about it. We were seated upstairs and were given amazing service from start to end. The server was friendly and attentive, full of smiles - she really did make our experience that much better. The food was great - we had a burger and steak, which can come with a good selection of sides. The dessert, an apple crumble with custard was delicious and a nice size. We will definitely be going back and bringing some friends along with us next time!

Not the ideal first meal out post Covid. Parents hadn’t been out for over a year as they are both vulnerable. They finally felt it was safe enough to have a meal outdoors this summer, and then this. Bread that looks like it was kneaded before the first lockdown, and they had the audacity to email me and tell me my symptoms could have been a virus. Right next to a motorway. Staff are slow and absent. Avoid.

Lovely place nice and quiet Lovely meal staff were so polite and would make sure everything was OK going back very soon. As you can see with my pictures the mill workings is incorporated in to the bar and some of the dining room brilliant.

Charming pub with so much character. Service and staff were friendly. Food was a bit of a let down, my fish and chips was good my boyfriends chicken burger was a bit small and lacked flavour.
