Disappointed. On a hot market day this place was empty, staff were many and costumers were few. Wide choice of ice creams, I had the saffron and pistachio, wasn’t great to be honest. But the one star goes to the staff. Unwelcoming and rude. I asked for a tasting and was told very bluntly “NO we don’t do that”, ok! But every other ice cream shop I’ve ever been in does offer tastes, especially at £4 a scoop. Staff were chatting with their mates from a cafe opposite just being really loud, it makes for a unpleasant environment. After going in for three ice creams we only left with one as the others changed their mind and just wanted to get out the place.I won’t be going back.

Lovely ice cream. I only deduct stars because I honestly think that the pricing options are really terrible. A single scoop is £4, but two scoops are £5, so you are highly incentivised to get two (pretty large) scoops as it is better value (and £4 is really very expensive indeed for a single scoop??).I don't agree with these sort of "super-sizing" pricing tactics; it's a bit reminiscent of unscrupulous fast food chains who try to get you to buy more than you need to maximise profits at the expense of the consumer's waistline. I think they should revisit their pricing options and make having a smaller ice cream better value - most companies are revisiting their "super-size" pricing options in light of the obesity crisis and I don't see why this shop should be any different.

After long wait, Finally Darlish Ice-cream is back in St.Albans for Summer with wide variety of flavours. We visited on a sunny day and it was too crowded.I tasted Baklawa ice cream sandwich with pistachio, rose and saffron flavour and chocolate with Halwa Crumble.Needless to say, both were amazingly tasty. It was all worth the hype. There is not much seating capacity as compared to customers visiting shop.

Came across this shop on the way back home. Ordered a scope of Apricot Yougurt and Honey and another scope of Turkish Coffee. There are plenty of other flavours to try, but means I would need to come back again. Needless to say the flavours I had were good.

£4 for a single scoop of ice cream?! I'm sorry, but that's far too much for a single scoop of ice cream.Wouldn't be so bad, except there are signs inside expressly prohibiting you from buying 2 scoops (which cost £5) and sharing those 2 scoops with someone else. I'd not blame anyone for doing this given the ridiculous approach to pricing these guys have taken.Maybe some people don't want to be gouged £8 for 2 scoops of ice cream...I can see that other reviewers think the same thing.

Very dissatisfied. I could hear the laughter and talk of the staff already ten feet outside the door. Everything boomed. I was looking for an ice cream and passing by, as I have already said, you could hear laughter. I walked in and they completely snubbed me by continuing to scream and laugh at each other. So I passed the desire and I went out but obviously no one noticed anything. The first thing is professionalism and greet, welcome and accompany the customer towards a choice or a sale. The guys were very young so maybe understandable but my advice is to review the age of the staff who don't take the job seriously. In the end, we ate the ice cream elsewhere.

Such amazing ice cream. Had the cinnamon and chai and coconut and raspberry flavours. Sooo good!

Snagged a baklava ice cream sandwich at their Spitafields stall (during a festival, don’t think they are normally located there). Chose the chai cinnamon ice cream as the filling. The baklava is obviously homemade, with sticky, flaky, buttery crust packed with pistachios. The ice cream was mildly flavored and not the creamiest I’ve ever had but it was a very enjoyable treat. I appreciate the originality of a baklava ice cream sandwich and the concept of focusing on Persian flavors. The staff were also really friendly.

Great ice creams! Probably the best in albans. Definitely try their eastern flavors, very unique flavor combinations.
