A lively pub with such character..thestaff are welcoming and helpful. The bingo night on Tuesdays is a great night out and our supper of pizza a true feast.

Great choice of beers and great atmosphere, they are also dog friendly

Driven past many a time but never thought to pop in. What a hidden surprise, it's next to the steam so I can easily play with the boat and my five year old, fantastic food, and the piece de resistance is the rear garden which is like a British version of a Japanese oriental garden. Lovely lovely staff too.

Really cosy pub that's been done up recently, great outdoor seating area out back. Food is delicious and the beer is reasonably priced and plentiful.

Popped in for lunch after taking the dog for a walk at Batford Springs. Had the meat and olive charcuterie and a pint each. Could not fault the food which was a decent size and delicious and really reasonably priced. We sat outside in the lovely raised bank area which was perfect area for a dog to chill. Fantastic and very friendly Barman whose name I didn’t catch but was very welcoming and chatty. Will definitely be returning again!

Nice restaurant and nice family run I believe. We both got the castle burger which was nice but never like having a burger van quality burger at a pub restaurant. It should be better quality meat! Everything else was nice and friendly though!

Fantastic little place!! Very welcoming of our family dog, catered to vegan diet. The team were fabulous! Highly recommend

Just popped into this pub tonight for a quick drink. Great pub.. excellent staff all very much taking notice of covid rules but providing a good service at the same time. Offered a choice if seating areas and then table service... nice playlist at a decent volume allowing conversation. Seems to be a good choice of beer. The bar staff are very professional and customer focused. We will be back for sure.

Great Pub, looks very nice from the outside too. a very old pub with lots of history and it's right next to the Upper lea valley walk pathway and Batford springs nature reserve.
