Giggling Squid Harpenden in St Albans

Jubilee Friday. Food was great. My wife and I had tapas. Restaurant downstairs, inside, was airy and not cramped. Nice lunch. We had a large beer, tea, and ice cream x1 for dessert and the meal was a little over £40 all in. Lily, our waitress was very pleasant. Would recommend for lunch for sure.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Harpenden to eat in at or to get a takeout from! It's quite in demand though so I recommend you book ahead for a table. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere in the restaurant which is over 2 floors, nicely decorated too. Food presentation even for a takeout is nicely done! The flavours are always beautiful with the dishes. Can't fault this place. Recommend!

This is a very good place for some authentic Thai served in traditional fare. The taste is amazing. We are all vegetarians and there is a very good variety for us. The spring rolls, currys, drinks and the salad were all brilliant. The service is quite fast for the crowd and weekend. The ambience is very nice. Overall a must go place for Thai. Reasonably priced.

A wide and varied menu with attentive service, pleasant interior and good quality cooking. Would recommend the sticky chicken with a side of coconut rice. Nice introduction to Thai/Indochinese inspired cuisine

Had a really lovely meal at a very reasonable price. The restaurant was rather busy, which I suppose is to be expected on a Friday night. Although seated promptly, I feel this led to a delay in us receiving our drinks and a longer than expected wait for our 1st course arriving. However, once it did, it was delicious. I would definitely go again.

This was a nice experience, the food was good , the service was great and the atmosphere was nice too.I was shocked that for a Thai restaurant they didn't have Tom Yum soup on the menu but had many other delicious options. The spring rolls were a favourite.They had mistakenly provided the wrong version of the dish and wrong size drink but were very quick to rectify and had management approach us with sincere apologies for the mistake and delay.As nice as the meal was, the pricing is a little steep, a starter with 2 mains and 2 rice sides, plus 2 soft drinks brought the evening meal to just over £50 for 2 people.Free parking is available in the evening nearby and there is a larger car pack nearby.I hope you have found this review helpful 🙂

Pretty good Thai food, very nice decor inside the restaurant. Set lunch menu works out as good value, but small tapas are less so

Beautiful, airy interior. When you step inside the restaurant you smell lovely Thai flavours throughout the restaurant.Lovely mocktails. Starters were tasty. Mains were all well cooked and delicious. Dessert was a good finish to our meal too.However, portions are small. It’s a little pricey for what we got and the curry looked so sad, with the beef being quite tough.Not your average Thai restaurant as they don’t have some dishes you normally find in other Thai restaurants like tom yum soup or mango sticky rice which I thought might be on the menu considering the time of year. I would not recommend ordering the roti either. Not light and flakey as it should be.
