Harvester in St Albans

My daughter and I went today for lunch,food was good although I was more impressed with our waitress,, I think her name was Ivy her customer service was above and beyond very cheerful and polite she has only been employed there for a few days,she was also very attentive could not fault her at all..Well done Ivy 👏.

I have been here many times before and had to complain so many times, I stopped going ,but after a couple of years I thought I would try it out for a breakfast. It was great food, great service and good value. I don't give 5 stars unless it's amazing.

We have celebrated a very special birthday. We are a very complicated family of 10 that have various intolerances and allergies. The restaurant coped amazing well and we had a fantastic evening .One I shall always remember especially after a very difficult 2 years due to Covid. So a very big thank you to all staff. Take care All of you. A greatful customer.

Very good staff and well run nice pub and restaurant. Good food. Have come here a variety of times over recent years and always a positive experience. My only complaint with the Harvester chain in general is they have taken off ALL draught beer and bitter such as Doombar. Sad that in a British pub you can no longer get a decent pint of beer. There are a wide range of lagers on tap but not everyone wants lager.

Had lunch with our two young children. Really nice staff, colouring pack on the table when we arrived, good food. Will come again

Super meal, great staff

The food was excellent, very punctual and even though there was seven of us, our food was all served at the same time and hot. Even our waitress was very good, extremely polite and very professional. Will definitely be going back, and would recommend to all, especially as a family venue.

The place is easy to find and easy to get to, with plenty of parking spaces outside. Even before you get seated, you will immediately notice that all tables are far apart, social distancing is well followed. There was constant humming or noise, whatever the source was, so we had to speak quite loudly to try to have a conversation and hear each other. If other guests had the same experience and had to talk loudly, this probably only added to the overall noise. Once we were seated and got the menus, the staff member "ran" away and didn't ask if we wanted child seats (we had children with us). So I had to go and find and get the child seats by myself. From there, the experience was however positive.We got beef briskets with mash, hamburger with chips, fish & chips and a plenty of salad. The food was tasty and the meat was soft (not chewy at all). You get unlimited top-ups for salad of your choice from a salad bar with every adult meal - the salad is served into a small bowl (way too small for me) by a member of staff and there were plenty of choices: green salad, tomatoes, cucumber, green peas, sweetcorn, olives, red peppers, pasta with herbs, boiled potatoes.Compared to other places, the bill was on the high side. I can imagine that the cost of "unlimited salad" and extra space around each table, so fewer guests allowed at the same time, were all factored in.
