I popped in today and I was served by Maz and Zosia, I had a wonderful conversation with both an they were nothing short of lovely! Both fantastic people. Having worked in hospitality myself its lovely to see that they uphold a brilliant standard! Give 'em a raise 😂

Nice place for having a drink with your friends during the weekdays. Very friendly staff and nice range of drinks. Unfortunately the place gets crowded & full of kids every Friday & Saturday getting extremely drunk and shouting on the streets.

After taking our order for two breakfasts the waiter returned to tell my Wife "we don't have any scrambled eggs, only poached or fried."Sausage was a deep fried jumbo chip shop effort which had the complexion and texture of an Armidillo. Pretty sure the bacon was deep fried too as it 'tasted' the same as the sausage.Specifically asked for a large cup of tea and the smallest vessel arrived barely even half full (including bag) with a tiny shot glass with milk in it on the side.Poached egg (£1.50) was added to our bill because I specified poached egg with my breakfast (because fried was the other option). When the waitress read our order back to us I specifically said 'poached egg isn't an extra item, it's just the type of egg I would like on my breakfast' which she indicated she understood. When I asked them to take this off the bill the lad behind the bar took the hump.Toilets still stunk over the bleach smell and the door swings open with more force than the busted lock that was trying to hold it closed. The building is really old and I was fascinated by this but upon closer inspection I suspect it was being held together by the same sticky substance that covered the floor.Easily the worst meal in the worst establishment I've ever frequented but also the most memorable. We'll be laughing about 'no scrambled eggs' for the rest of our days.To offer credit where it's due, after some encouragement they did scramble an egg for my Wife and it was the best part of the meal.Probably won't be rushing back though.

Bar staff friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. The pub wasn't crowded. We like the outside seated area. . But this was a Sunday afternoon. They make a great cocktail, I had a great pork star martini

Ok so I was slightly intoxicated whilst here so it might not be completely accurate but seems like a nice place. Decent priced drinks, nice service and a cosy little place. Everything was ok apart from the other drunken people coming up to us telling us bad jokes, seems like a young bar good for getting drunk in.

Used to be a great bar but it’s been left, dated decor, sticky floors and cocktail menu is just overly sweet weak cocktails.Such a shameThink it’s for the younger generation of cheap drinks and cram as many people in as possible. Not a nice experience for an evening out.

Gets absolutely rammed at the weekend and definitely caters for a much younger audience (a lot of 19-22 year olds). When it's not so full the atmosphere is lovely but definitely feels like they fill to over capacity

Cocktail hour between 3pm - 7pm, AMAZING cocktails, so many options all are fantastic!Personal favourote = "shark week" with even a cheeky shark sweet (blue one in photo). My first time at the snug, qnd it is what it say, snug.Staff are brilliant, one of the staff members even saved me from a pesky wasp👍🏼

We went to St Albans to visit Vegan Vice for lunch at the Snug Bar. The food looks filthy nice on their social streams so we went for a vegan treat. Unfortunately we left quite disappointed, possibly due to the anticipation we'd built up.The food was okay but way too expensive for what it was at £90 for 6 (2 young children). Afterwards we noticed a service change had been automatically added of ~£9 which I would objected to if I'd have spotted it.I had the double cheezeburger (see photo) and it was alright but quite well done so more flame grilled flavour than anything else. The rest of the party had the chicken burger equivalents and they were strange tasting, we've had better chicken alternatives elsewhere, they had an almost curry taste to them. One of our party went for a bun-less option with side salad alternative but was also disappointed as just a few extra lettuce leaves. The fries were good with a lovely seasoning on them. I'd recommend almost a portion between 2, especially if you want to keep the cost down.Covid wise it was alright, staff took precautions with lots of hand sanitising by them. I'm not sure we were 1m from another group despite it saying 2m but we were okay with this.I know it goes with the theme but seemed excessive waste using cardboard for burgers and fried, just use plates! Also drop the straws with all drinks, they may not be plastic but we can all drink from glasses so cut the waste.Would we return? Perfectly pleasant staff and place but actually I don't think we would, just for the fact of price vs what you get.
