Faith and Anthony are amazing and always very welcoming ... food is great and even the dog gets spoilt!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would without a thought ... highly recommend 👌

Walked over from Wheathampstead and met by very friendly bar staff who made a huge fuss over our dog. We only stayed for a quick drink (lovely draft IPA) but the food looked great so next time we'll plan for that too

A lovely walk finished off with just amazing food and a great Guinness (or 3). Well worth a visit and good value too. Ian

Good honest pub food and well kept beer. The Ploughman's is a meal and a half!

Friendly, cosy country pub in the heart of Hertfordshire. Well kept beer and delicious food - particularly good for game.

I recently discovered this absolute gem of a pub, the beer is exceptional and very well kept with a good selection. The food is very special and you can tell the genuine love and dedication put into cooking it. I had homemade locally sourced pheasant coujons which are exceptional and ham, egg and chips which too was exceptional. The landlady crafts her own pickles and sauces which are well worth a try! Thank you very much for a wonderful evening and I will be back very soon.

Traditional, comfortable and friendly. Well prepared food. New, separator panels a bit intrusive. Hope they won't be needed for long.

Excellent. Sit in the garden, ring the mobile number on you table, place your order and the drinks and food get delivered to you promptly. Friendly service. Lots of parking. Bring your horse too as there are dedicated tables and tie up facilities for riders. Pleasant dog walks from here too.
