Lussmanns in St Albans

We visited St Albans only for a day and booked Lussmanns for lunch on Saturday afternoon (yesterday). So glad we booked them! Great experience from start to finish.Staff was friendly and genuinely helpful and attentive despite the restaurant heaving (so pleased we booked!).Food was excellent so were all the drinks and cocktails , all very reasonably priced for the quality of food. We had a wonderful afternoon and very keen to try your other branches as well.Set menu is a great idea. Puddings were insanely good. One of those places that everything worked from start to finish. Sadly we were so focused on eating the delicious food and only managed to take one pic of one pudding!thank you

Enjoyed dining here a lot, had the set menu which is very good value and the menu is well structured and has something for everyone. Not remotely interested in the sustainable nonsense but the food was good and the service was excellent. Worth trying as an alternative to similarly priced bigger chains. The toilets have paper towels instead of those dreadful hand driers which is a huge bonus!

Have always enjoyed a meal here. Moved away 3 years ago, first visit since moving. Food was pleasant, but there seemed to be a lack of staff, waited almost an hour for dessert. We were compensated though.

Booked for a birthday meal, the staff were lovely and accommodating and the food was great.

Great restaurant with a fantastic value set menu. The Lamb Ragout was a taste sensation. The staff were very efficient and friendly too. My only comment is the sides were a bit highly priced for what you received. I would highly recommend for a nice meal out in St Albans.

Absolutely incredible value for money with the set menu. Table of four we had three courses for £19.95. Every dish was well thought out, and completely delicious, from the oxtail croquettes, lamb ragu, the haddock to the creme brulee all washed down with a lovely French house white for £20 per bottle.Really impressed with the local sourcing and sustainable element.Gorgeous venue and great space for a larger party downstairs.

Lovely restaurant spread over different levels in a building next to the cathedral in St Albans approached through a small walkway. Parking in town can be difficult and pre booking your table is a good idea as the restaurant can be busy. The ambience is lovely.They have a good choice of vegetarian, vegan dishes, seafood, meats including steak and a great variety of desserts. We had fishcake, amazing baked aubergine and a mushroom stew, all excellent. The apple crumble and date and ginger pudding was delicious. The poached pear was average. Service was very friendly. There can be a wait between courses.

Short stay in St Albans and decided to try Lussmanns. Good choice!Very friendly and professional team had us seated and served in no time at all. Maybe our starter arrived 5 minutes too early after opting for the bread and olive to ease us into the evening - but we weren’t ever rushed, in fact we ate well prepared and presented food at our own pace, served by Jane who just seemed to be there just when we needed her and always with a smile. Fishcakes and skin-on fries were beautifully cooked and very tasty, leaving us too full for anything more than an Irish coffee, which definitely hit the spot.Great food, great service and good value. Impressive!

A fantastic experience. I booked here for my 1 year anniversary and was not disappointed.We ordered the Tuna steak and the Cod loin; Both were excellent.The service was amazing. A big thank you to Alex and Muskan who made our evening very enjoyable.

Ingredients were fresh, the steak was perfectly cooked, cod cheeks were delicious, lots of local beers on the drinks list to choose from. It was busy but the staff did very well with our orders. There was not a long wait between our courses. Really nice ambience. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
