M&S Cafe in St Albans

Service is outstanding, super friendly and helpful. Thank you!Menu is interesting and definetly good however we can't say the same about the taste. We had a variety of food and the Calamari are nice, the salad was also delicious unfortunately the chicken was super dry. Dessert selection is good. Bill's is probably in the 17-19£ class for decent meal with one drink.

Went to Bill's yesterday13 June 2022 for an impromptu birthday meal. We hadn't booked and were walk-ins. We were treated like royalty and staff made such an effort to make me feel special. I even got sparkling birthday candles and balloons from staff for my day. They even sang for me and made me feel super special. I forgot to get the name of the team, but all I can say is thank you for making my birthday one of the best xxxx

Having a rare allergy the staff were outstanding here, especially the lovely manager Joanna who has obviously been a simple inspiration on the training of her staff as having visited in the past the change is night and day. A true credit to Bills and someone who should be training other sites on how to do service the right way.A new favourite place.

We visited Bill's for the first time and were taken aback with the eye catching surroundings as we entered. We started with drinks and were deciding as to whether to eat there as the menu is really tempting, unfortunately it was the staff that changed our minds. Surly faced cocktail waitress, must of been sucking lemons instead of putting them in drinks, we asked about tomorrows brunch and were laughed at by the waitor, when I asked if there were offers on brunch or lunch menus. And finally waited an eternity for the bill for 2 drinks, asked 3 people, started walking out in my coat must of been a hint as suddenly it appeared.

Popped in here for a hearty lunch on my own.The service was exceptional, I have never known anything like it beforeThe food was in the most part amazing (although I wish there was an upgrade of steak available for the steak and eggs)Was able to upgrade the fries to sweet potato fries.I ended up going the whole hog and having coffee and desert too as I had time.I don't believe in the 12.5% service charge (as some companies do not pass it on and surely you can not eat at a restaurant without being served) but it was optional and they removed this £3 odd fee. I did think it was amazing though, so left a £5 in cash tip 😉

This is our favourite Bills in the area by far. Have visited many times and always had a good experience. The staff are welcoming and efficient. I gave 4 stars as the food is good but not amazing. But saying that it’s great for families and has a wide variety of dishes to suit most people and has a great atmosphere. Will definitely return many times again for sure

Two adults, a dog and a baby in a pram. We were made to feel so welcome and given space and water for the dog and a high chair without even having to ask. Would proudly take guests to eat here, looks great, food is great, staff are top-notch.

Great food, we chose very basic food but it was all well presented and the service was amazing, very attentive and well paced out. Lost a star because they overcharged us, I realised once home as we were on a romantic date and didn't want to spoil the vibe by analysing the bill, it wasn't much but was an unpleasant surprise.

We are regular customers at the one in Welwyn Garden City - and there is a specific expectation from Bills as a brand. But when we visited the one in St Albans - it fell short of getting the order out on time - and keeping us updated on where the order was. I was struggling to understand why some of the customer who walked in after us were getting their mains and we were still waiting for the starter after 30 min waiting. When the food arrived the presentation was great - but it wasn’t anything special and with the wait it was simply the last hope of saving the day out. The burger we had order was soggy and that was the biggest let down. Would recommend if your looking for a average burger or meal - but expect a wait and it’s not something I would recommend if your looking for a spectacular meal.
